Sevilla have announced the arrival of Spanish forward Fernando Llorente from Juventus on a three-year contract.

The forward's release clause is set at €20 million after arriving in Sevilla for free.

Llorente underwent his medical on Thursday afternoon and expressed his delight, via Twitter, at joining the Spanish outfit.

“Sevillistas I’ve come with enthusiasm and the purpose of working hard for this club,” he tweeted. “Thanks for your amazing welcome!”

A turbulent spell in Italy

Expectations were high after the Spaniard touched down on Italian soil.

Llorente had, after all, steered his former employers, Athletic Club, to within touching distance of Europa League glory, netting 85 goals during his eight year spell in the north of the country.

Though his debut campaign in Juventus colours was a fruitful one, striking an effective rapport with Carlos Tevez at the tip of attack as Juventus claimed their third successive Scudetti, the arrival of compatriot Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid signalled the beginning of the end for the burly forward.

Llorente scored on only seven seperate ocassions last term and would become further marginalised with the summer additions of Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Simone Zaza.

Aiming to replace the goalscoring expenditure of Bacca

With Carlos Bacca having already headed in the opposite direction, to Italy, Llorente will be tasked with replicating the goalscoring outlay of the Colombian.

The now-Milan striker netted 34 goals in two La Liga campaigns, including several decisive strikes in Europe.

Llorente may represent a different breed of forward, but the Spaniard is proven in La Liga and will have the instant support from the Sevilla faithful.

He will join the likes of Yevhen Konoplyanka, Steven N'Zonzi and Mariano -- from Dnipro, Stoke City and Bordeaux respectively -- on the list of summer arrivals.

Llorente will don the No. 24 shirt and may make his debut against Atletico Madrid on Sunday evening.
