Felipe Melo and Alex Telles, both bought from Galatasaray on the last day of the Italian window, met the press for the first time in Inter Milan colours on Thursday afternoon.

The press conference was broadcasted live on Inter's YouTube channel, and both players had plenty of praise for the club and their new teammates.

Melo came under fire immediately, with the first question being regarding his aggressive playstyle. He responded by stating "Yep, that's me. That's my strength," indicating that the Brazilian will not change his ways now he is in Serie A.

Last season, Felipe Melo received 11 yellow cards in 20 appearances in the Turkish Süper Lig, as well as a red card in the cup and six further cautions in all competitions.

He admitted he is "happy to be here" and that Inter are "used to winning."

"I'm focused on performing well here," said the 32 year old, who referred to his "successful" spell at Galatasary as evidence that he can do well for his new team.

Derby Debut?

One of the questions asked of the new pair was whether or not they would be ready for the upcoming Derby della Madonnina on September 13th.

Alex Telles stated "I'm in good shape," ending any doubt over his fitness concerns, by saying that if he is called upon, he will be "ready".

Melo did admit he is "a bit behind" Telles in terms of fitness, but did say "I think I'll be ready for the Derby."

It is possible Roberto Mancini will employ the 4-2-3-1 in the upcoming game with AC Milan, something which could see them both feature, with Telles at left-back and Melo forming a defensive midfield partnership with Geoffrey Kondogbia.

Speaking on his midfield partner, Felipe Melo commented that the defensive midfielder is a "great prospect," adding that they can "achieve big things together, but we have to prove it on the pitch."

Teammates re-united

Felipe Melo and Alex Telles both spoke very highly of one another as they found themselves comrades again at Inter.

"Alex has a cracking left foot," Melo said about the fellow Brazilian, adding that he believes the fact he is a "winner", will help him reach his "great potential".

Telles stated that he was "delighted" to join up with Melo once again, due to the Brazilian having "won everything."

Adam Ljajic is currently on national team duty with Serbia, so he will be revealed at a later date.
