Although he has been linked with a move elsewhere, VfB Stuttgart midfielder Filip Kostic has come out and said that will not leave the German club.

On his way out of the Bundesliga?

Kostic has been a wanted man by a number of clubs. The Serbian international, who has been linked to the likes of Liverpool, is only 23 years old and offers a lot of potential as an attacking midfielder. He is in the top 10 in terms of chances created in the Bundesliga and offers a real threat going forward. It's easy to see why he would be such a big target for other clubs. Although he has been linked to bigger clubs in Europe, he recently told a Serbian programme b92 that he is content in staying in Germany as of now.

"I want to stay and help my club. I'm reluctant to leave Stuttgart in this difficult situation," said Kostic about the fact that he could leave the club in the January transfer window.

Loyalty to Stuttgart

There must be great credit given to Kostic if he decides to stay at Stuttgart. Currently the club is 15th in the Bundesliga and are only ahead above the relegation play-off spot on goal difference. It has been a tough time for the team; it would be easy for him to leave and move on to a team that is not in a relegation battle, but he is choosing to stick it out and help them stay in the top flight of German football.

Things are also looking up for the Swabians as they beat Wolfsburg 3-2 to get out of the relegation zone recently, and also won in the DFB-Pokal as well. They also made the news by signing former Dortmund winger Kevin Großkreutz, and extended the contract of their coach Jürgen Kramny until 2017.
