The La Liga champions had an easy victory as they advance on an aggregate score of 5-1. Two goals from Munir in each half was enough to see Barcelona cruise to victory after a first leg which saw multiple incidents from players on both sides.

Munir puts the vistors up

Even after a tough home leg, Barcelona went into the away leg up 4-1 and Luis Enrique chose to start a lot of youth and bench players in this matchup. Luis Suarez was suspended, Claudio Bravo wasn't even on the match squad, and the likes of Neymar and Iniesta were sitting on the bench.

Only Leo Messi trotted out onto the pitch with a lot of different players around him. But he had help around him with the likes of Arda Turan and Munir. Messi got things going for Barcelona early on when he tested Espanyol goalkeeper Bardi with a shot from the edge of the box that required a great save from the keeper. Munir had a header go wide a few minutes later and it was clear that Barcelona had control of the game. Then a momentance of brilliance from Messi put Barcelona up.

Messi took the ball and surveyed the pitch and then released a great pass to spring Munir who rounded the keeper and slid it into the empty net to give Barcelona a 1-0 lead. Messi played in a great pass to set up the play.

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen had to make some quality saves in the last minutes of the first half including a solid one handed save against Caiciedo who found himself all alone in front of goal. It was a 1-0 Barca lead at the half.

Munir adds another to seal it all for Barca

After making some good saves at the end of the first half, Ter Stegen was again made some good saves to start the second half. Both times he was again tested by Caiciedo who had a good game in terms of chances but couldn't seem to finish them off in this game.

Down 5-1 on aggregate in this game, you could feel the life start to leave Espanyol as the game wore on. The attacking sense from the home team seemed to go away as the minutes ticked towards 90.

Munir later added a second goal in the 88th minute after a great combination play by Aleix Vidal and Turan which allowed the Barcelona youngster to pass the ball into a open net for the second time in the game. Barca could have added a third but again Messi was denied by Bardi.

It was good to see Barcelona keep their composure on the pitch in the second leg as the first leg was marred by incidents between the two teams. But sadly it wasn't the case for Espanyol as they picked up three yellow cards.

In the end it was a dominanting 2-0 win by Barcelona as they advance into the last 8 of the Copa Del Rey.
