All good things must come to an end and for Miroslav Klose that time is reportedly approaching.

It is being reported that the 37-year-old Polish born former German international is set to retire at the end of the Serie A season, wrapping up a stellar career at both the club and international level.

International Career

The German international has been a big part of the German National side since his international debut in 2001. Since his debut at a young age up until his final game played with the national team, he has always been a constant threat for the Germans.

Klose was approached by Poland to represent them internationally but since he already had a German passport and a greater chance to win with Germany, he respectfully declined later saying it was not an easy choice.

In the time he has spent with the national side he has only one World Cup win which was in 2014 but has also had many close calls in winning more along with Euro Cups.

In his final World Cup in 2014, Klose not only became the third player in history to score in four different World Cups but also set the record for most World Cup goals with 16 bypassing Brazilian Ronaldo.

Club Play

The German looks to have made his final stop in Italy with Lazio, the team he joined in 2011. It is his fifth professional club with other notables being Bundesliga sides Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich.

Life after football

La Repubblica reported on Wednesday that Klose has reportedly turned down offers from China and the MLS to extend his playing career.

They also reported that he will take up coaching at the youth level for the German FA.

He has had a long great career and one can only respect what he has been able to do on the pitch all these years.
