With their club slowly fading from the top of the standings, Roma has made Barcelona left-back Adriano a transfer target to help turn things around.

The clubs Scudetto hopes are fading and even after a coaching change are desperately trying to find a spark to add into the line-up. With a player like Adriano it will definitely help out on a rather poor back end.

The club is going to try to get the deal done for the Catalan left-back before the transfer deadline according to Tuttosport.

Spalletti’s Inheritance

Luciano Spalletti only took back control of the Giallorossi a few weeks ago when he took over for Rudi Garcia and has really yet to put his stamp on the team.

The Roman side have had problems on the defensive side of things all season. Although the team still sits among the top five in the Serie A standings, it is important to point out they have surrendered the worst goal total amongst the top seven teams with 25 goals, tied with sixth place AC Milan.

On a positive note, Roma owns the sixth best goals conceded average in all of Serie A.

Adriano Looking for Playing Time

If the left-back is looking to sign elsewhere, he will look for a team who will give him more playing time than what he is receiving right now in Spain. That opportunity presents itself in Rome at the moment.

Adriano has appeared in 185 games since transferring to Barcelona in 2010 from La Liga side Sevilla. However this season Adriano has taken a back seat role with the club and he finds himself with only six appearances so far this season.
