Norway and Sweden were victorious on the second day of the UEFA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, recording wins against the Netherlands and Switzerland respectively.

The Netherlands were comprehensively beaten 4-1 by Norway, while Switzerland bowed out of the Road to Rio after falling to another defeat - this time a 1-0 to group leaders Sweden.

Norway dominant against the hosts

Norway dominated the opening exchanges of their clash with the Dutch, and finally made all that attacking count after LSK Kvinner FK forward Emilie Haavi put them in a 1-0 lead on the half hour mark.

Defender Maren Mjelde doubled Norway's lead 15 minutes after the break by tapping in after a quick counter attack resulted in a goalmouth scramble. Seattle Reign midfielder Manon Melis gave the hosts a glimmer of hope after an excellent finish, but Norwegian Golden Ball winner Ada Hegerberg's late brace made it 4-1, putting the game to bed.

Switzerland bow out

Meanwhile, in the other game of the evening, Sweden knocked Switzerland out of the competition after another narrow and hard fought 1-0 win.

The only goal of the game came just before half time when midfielder Caroline Seger headed home what turned out to be the winner, after a Sweden corner caused confusion in the penalty area.

Switzerland, who reached the Round of 16 in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, couldn't get the goal which would get them back in the game and thus cannot qualify for Rio anymore.

Sweden favourites going into the final round

Sweden are in pole position to win the group, having won both their games, while Netherlands and Norway have three points each, with Norway second in the table due to superior goal difference. Switzerland are bottom of the group, having lost both their games, and a chance to qualify.

The third round of the Olympic Qualifiers will take place on Wednesday 9 March and will see high-flying Sweden take on the Netherlands, while Switzerland play for pride against Norway.
