Inter Milan are ready to launch an offer for Italian international Antonio Candreva, according to FcInterNews.it.
The 29-year-old has reportedly made up his mind to leave Lazio at the end of the season. He arrived in Italy’s capital in January 2012, and won the Coppa Italia with the Biancocelesti in 2013.
But Candreva’s relationship with Lazio has broken down, according to Corriere dello Sport, as he was overlooked by manager Stefano Pioli in being awarded the captaincy.
Lazio have set a price tag of €30 million, but Inter could offer a money plus player deal for Candreva, who still has over three years left on his contract.
Lazio's struggling season
The news comes after Lazio crashed out of the Europa League Round of 16, losing 4-1 to Sparta Prague on aggregate. Along with drawing 1-1 against AC Milan last weekend, meaning they currently lie 8th in Serie A.
With Lazio 13 points off 5th place, it’s unlikely they’ll have another European campaign next season. The only chance they have is finishing sixth in the league, and hope that Juventus wins the Coppa Italia. As Juventus will achieve qualification for the Champions League, the last Europa League spot will be awarded to the team in 6th place.
Lazio have arguably under achieved when you compare last season’s 3rd place finish, to the situation they face today.

Despite Candreva having a modest nine goals to his name this season, he’s still Lazio’s top goal scorer in all competitions. He's also on course to score double figures in three straight seasons.
Inter have only scored 40 goals in 30 Serie A games, so added goals would be a welcomed addition to the squad. No Nerazzurri winger has scored more than the Italian this season (excluding Eder's goals for Sampdoria).
His form this season has earned him a place in Antonio Conte’s Italy squad, for their upcoming friendlies against Spain and Germany.
