Unfortunately, that's all we have time for this evening. Stay tuned for a match report and analysis on the site. We will also have full match coverage at of today's final game between France and Albania at 8pm. I've been Sam Smith, and I thank you very much for following my commentary of this game.

Romania took the lead through Bogdan Stancu's penalty, before Blerim Dzemaili hammered home an equaliser just before the hour mark.

And there goes the final whistle in Paris. Not quite the game for the neutral, but the result will favour Switzerland much more than Romania. The Swiss will feel they should have won the game, having carved many chances throughout the game.

FT: Romania 1-1 Switzerland.

90+3' Embolo picks up a yellow card for going in late on Grigore.

90' Three minutes of added time at the end of the game. Meanwhile, Shaqiri is replaced by Tarashaj.

87' Headed away by Schar.

87' Romania go up the other end and win a corner. Can they win it late on?

86' Rodriguez swings a free-kick straight into the hands of the goalkeeper.

83' Switzerland's Michael Lang replaces Blerim Dzemaili, while Romania make their final change, with Florin Andone replacing Bogdan Stancu.

79' Shaqiri almost controls a pass over the top of the Romanian defence, but his legs aren't quite long enough.

77' Shaqiri's free-kick hits the wall before Dzemaili has his rebound deflected into the 'keeper's hands.

76' Dregos Torje finds himself in the referee's notebook, receiving the fourth Romanian yellow card. Switzerland have a free-kick in a dangerous position.

75' Shaqiri tries a spectacular acrobatic effort but he miss-kicks and the ball flies up into the air and over the bar. It probably looked better in his head...

68' Switzerland really in the ascendency here. The introduction of Embolo has given them a different dimension and they look likelier to take the lead. A win here would see them all but qualify for the last 16.

68' Embolo has really made an impact since coming on, this time he sees his header go just wide. Sapuranu did well to put the youngster off.

67' Embolo, this time, is onside but is crowded out as he looks to get through the back four.

66' Embolo's first involvement is to stray offside as the goalscorer, Mehmedi, tries to feed him through on goal.

63' Embolo finally gets his introduction, replacing Haris Seferovic.

61' Romania making a change: Steliano Filip replaces Razvan Rat. A straight change at left-back.

58' Shaqiri fires over from a free-kick.

Breel Embolo has also returned to the bench and will not come on - at least yet.

More on goal: Admir Mehmedi finally has Switzerland level, rifling left-footed into the top right-hand corner after the ball kindly fell his way following a corner.

GOAL FOR SWITZERLAND!

56' Looks as though Breel Embolo could be introduced by Swiss boss, Vladimir Petkovic. The youngster had a good game against Albania having come on as a substitute.

53' Superb defending from Djourou who is at full strength to intercept a cross and put the ball out for a corner. Could easily have deflected the ball into his own net.

50' Xhaka goes into the book for a strong challenge on Sapunaru.

49' Xhaka plays a superb pass with the outside of his left foot into the path of Shaqiri, whose attempt is deflected behind for a corner - which is cleared.

46' Romania's kick-off technique is slighly more usual than Switzerland's attempt in the first half. They go on the attack straight away but they are stifled out by the Swiss defence.

Romania - defending their lead - will get the half underway. They also make a change: Hoban replaces the injured Pantilii.

Second half is imminent.

Stay tuned for the second half next, LIVE here at VAVEL UK.

Bogdan Stancu's penalty gives Romania the advantage at half-time. But Switzerland have been the better side and could even be in the lead had they been more clinical in front of goal. Seferovic and Dzemaili have had their best chances, but the Romanians have sat back and counter-attacked well.

45+1' Ball is headed away by Seferovic and the half-time whilstle goes.

45' One minute to be added on at the end of the first half. Meanwhile, Romania win their first corner which ultimately leads to their second.

44' Lichsteiner improvises to flick a header towards goal, but Tatarusanu is equal to the effort.

38' Close! Another dangerous ball from Lichsteiner meets the head of Dzemaili, but the effort is tame against goes wide. The Swiss need to start taking some of these chances.

37' Another yellow card for Romania, this time for Keseru, after the striker drags Behrami to the floor. Tricolorii are totting up the cards now - will need to be careful as the game continues.

Ten minutes until half-time. Can Switzerland find a way back or will Romania see the half out, or even score a second?

34' Another corner for Switzerland, although Xhaka's header is tame and Romania have a goal kick.

32' Free-kick, whipped into the goalkeeper's side of the goal, is caught easily.

32' Dzemaili wins a free-kick around 25 yards from goal. Rodriguez will take...

28' Off the post! Sapunaru turns in the box following a set-piece and finds the outside of the post. Almost 2-0!

24' Two Romanian bookings in quick succession: Prepelita and Chipciu go into the book for strong challenges on Xhaka and Shaqiri respectively.

20' Almost a reply straight away! Fabian Schar brings down a high ball with his chest, and his spectacular volley from 25 yards needs Tatarusanu to be at full strength to save.

More on goal: Bogdan Stancu scores his second penalty of the tournament - sending Yann Sommer the wrong way from twelve yards - after Stephan Lichsteiner was adjudjed of pulling down a Romanian player as they entered the penalty box.

GOAL FOR ROMANIA!

18' Penalty for Romania!

17' Romania call for handball just outside the box, but referee, Sergei Karasev, waves away the protests.

16' Close again! Shaqiri finds Seferovic but Tatarusanu saves the forward's low effort with his legs.

13' Opening stages have been dominated by Rossocrociati. Romania haven't been able to advance forward so far but will hopefully soon show why they were so dangerous against France.

12' ... Which is punched away by Tatarusanu.

12' Switzerland win the first corner of the game.

10' Switzerland win a free-kick out wide on the left, which Rodriguez swings in, but a free-kick is awarded to Romania for a push.

08' Keseru glances a header towards goal but Sommer collects the ball with minimal trouble.

07' Close! Seferovic works space in the box with a clever drag-back, but his effort flashes past the post. The striker will be hoping his poor form in front of goal will not continue into this game having missed a couple of big chances against Albania.

5' Lichsteiner delivers a dangerous cross but it just glances over the head of Seferovic.

03' first effort occurs when Dzemaili drags an effort, which is blocked by the Romanian back four. Xhaka then has a go at goal which is also deflected away from goal and Tatarusanu gathers with ease.

Switzerland used a recently introduced rule there, with only one player taking the centre to begin the game. New regulations state the ball does not have to go forward.

01' Kick off!

It will be Switzerland to get us underway. They scored within five minutes against Albania, can they do the same again?

Which is to be followed now by the Romanian anthem.

Swiss national anthem first...

The teams are in the tunnel now and are about to come out. National anthems will follow.

Just over ten minutes until kick off.

As usual in these tournament games, the substitutes' bench is made up of the rest of the 23-man squad.

Confirmed Switzerland team: Sommer; Lichsteiner, Schar, Djourou, Rodriguez; Xhaka, Behrami; Shaqiri, Dzemaili, Mehmedi; Seferovic.

Confirmed Romania team: Tatarusanu; Sapunaru, Chiriches, Grigore, Rat; Pintilii, Prepelita; Torje, Stancu, Chipciu; Keseru.

Just ten minutes until we find out the team news for this game. Stay tuned!

Who are the key players from both sides? Romania were unlucky to come away from Paris with no points, but Nicolae Stanciu announced himself on the European stage with his performance. For Swizterland? A poor performance saw them put just one goal past Albania, but surely Granit Xhaka & Co. will get better as the tournament goes on.

One dilemma for Lordanescu ahead of the game is whether to start left-back Razvan Rat, who is 35-years-old. The Rayo Vallecano defender will come up against Stoke City's Xherdan Shaqiri, which could prove to be a mis-match.

That night in Paris was certainly one to remember for many Romanians. Press and former players didn't get Anghel Lordanescu’s side a chance, but they matched France for 80 minutes. The Romania manager did however state that it may be difficult to lift the morale of his players after losing out to a late goal.

Romania had differing experiences during their opening game, losing to France thanks to a late wonder-goal from Dimitri Payet. Olivier Giroud headed France ahead midway through the second half, but Anghel Lordanescu’s side fought back, equalising via a penalty from Bogdan Stancu. However, Payet’s goal was sensational – taking a touch with his right foot before shooting directly into the top corner with his left foot. Despite the defeat, Romania can take several positives from the game, particularly their attacking threat and their set-pieces, and will be a much tougher test for Switzerland than Albania.

During the first round of matches, Switzerland beat ten-man Albania 1-0 in Lens, courtesy of Fabian Schar’s fifth-minute goal. The game saw history being made, due to Swiss midfielder, Granit Xhaha, face his brother, Taulant Xhakabecoming the first siblings in European Championships history to play for opposing sides. Albania captain Lorik Cana was sent off nine minutes before half-time, but Albania still managed to create several chances, highlighting Switzerland’s back four as an area for teams to exploit during the tournament.

Similar to their opponents, Romania finished runners-up in their qualifying group, a point behind Northern Ireland in Group F. In fact, they were unbeaten during qualifying – even being the only side to beat Michael O’Neill’s side in the group – but their inconsistency, exemplified by their five draws, meant they were unable to hold down their place at the top of the six-team table. For a qualifying team, Tricolorii also relatively struggled in front of goal, scoring just eleven goals in ten games.

Switzerland, the co-hosts of the 2008 edition of the tournament, qualified for the finals of the tournament having finished runners-up in Group E. Rossocrociati advanced fairly comfortably, finishing five points ahead of third-placed Slovenia, although group winners, England, tallied 30 points – nine more than Switzerland – after winning each of their group matches. Vladimir Petkovic’s side lost just three games during qualifying, suffering successive 2-0 defeats to the Three Lions as well as a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Slovenia. Despite the three defeats, they scored an impressive 24 goals during the ten games, although eleven were netted against international minnows, San Marino.
