France manager Didier Deschamps was full of praise for midfielder Paul Pogba before Thursday evening's semi-final with Germany, speaking about his form in his pre-match press conference.

Speaking about Pogba's form at the Euros, Deschamps could only offer kind words for the French starlet, recently linked with a move to Premier League side Manchester United.

Pogba's form has improved since being dropped

Pogba started France's first game, as they beat Romania 2-1 thanks to a last minute Dimitri Payet goal, but didn't perform well and was dropped alongside Antoine Griezmann for the second group game, only to come on and help his side score two late goals to see off Albania.

He's started three consecutive games since then, against Switzerland, Republic of Ireland and Iceland, with many deeming that the centre-midfielder has played himself into form, scoring against Iceland last time out.

Deschamps praises the wanted midfielder

However, Deschamps seemed to be of the opinion that Pogba has been in form throughout, stating "I had not lost him, so I have not rediscovered him", when asked about the topic.

However, the international boss did admit that it was "abit trickier for him [Pogba] at the start of the tournament", before adding that Pogba has "always stood up" to the challenge.

He was slightly critical of the media presence surrounding Pogba, stating that "he needs tranquility around him", something not helped by cameras watching his every move.

Somewhat ironically, after saying that, Deschamps did build a little pressure on Pogba by explaining his importance in the semi-final, quipping; "Paul has been playing very well the last two games and we'll need him on Thursday".

Speaking about the game itself, Deschamps assured the media that France are going to "give it everything". On playing style, he spoke how how although "Germany are used to dominating the opposition", he won't let his team "simply go out there thinking about defending".
