Jeremy Menez has left AC Milan for Girondins Bordeaux in his homeland on a three-year-deal on a free transfer.

The French side confirmed through an official statement today, the capture of his services calling Menez "one of the great talents of French football" as well as calling him "experienced, having played for big clubs and won trophies."

The 29-year-old forward is back in France two years after departing champions Paris Saint Germain for Milan, whom he would make 46 Serie A outtings for and net an impressive 20 times.

"Quick, sharp and technical, he has arrived at Bordeaux to show his qualities and help Bordeaux to aim for the top of the table" the statement continued.

The side, who finished 11th in Ligue 1 last year claimed to be "very happy to have a player of his quality" in the mix now and "wish him the best in the Scapulaire shirt."

Menez is Bordeaux's fourth summer acquisition joining goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni, central midfielder Jeremy Toulalan and fellow winger Francois Kamino through the doors at the Noveau Stade de Bordeaux this summer. Meanwhile, he is the eighth player to leave the rossoneri on a permanent basis as new coach Vincenzo Montella prepares his squad for his first season in charge in the dugout at the San Siro.

Suso revival may have played a part in exit

Suso was sent out on loan to Genoa last term and a slow start was quickly forgotten as the Spaniard finished the season strongly grabbing five goals in the last seven league games, including a hat-trick against Frosinone.

The 22-year-old has returned to Milan in inspired form and coincedentally scored a double against Menez' new side in a pre-season friendly which the Frenchman also featured in, but not in his prefered role which was taken by Suso.
