Zaza agent confirms Napoli interest

Simone Zaza's agent has confirmed Napoli's approach for his client and has ruled out a loan move for the Juventus forward.

Latest reports from Italy are suggestive of the fact that a bid in the region of €28 million from the Partenopei has been accepted by Juventus for the Italian forward, as the Turin based club look to offload the former Sassuolo man.

A wanted man

Zaza's agent has ruled out a loan deal, admitting that talks regarding his client's acquisition have taken place between him and Napoli.

He told CalcioMercato: “Yes, it’s true that we spoke to the sporting director Giuntoli at length", yesterday.

When questioned about the developments, the agent went on to say “We’re waiting for Napoli."

He also stated that there was no interest from Southampton because "no-one from there has ever spoken with us."

West Ham have reportedly been following the striker for a long time and when pressed on the situation, the agent added "it’s a great club." He did, however, stress that if Simone leaves Juventus, he’ll only do it outright.

Time for resurgence

25-year-old Zaza, who was part of the Antonio Conte's Italy national side that took part in Euro 2016, missed his spot-kick against Joachim Low's side as the Azzurri crashed out of the tournament on penalties.

The former Sassuolo man could only make 19 appearances in the Serie A last season, scoring five times and assisting once. He made two Coppa Italia appearances, racking up two goals and assisting once.

Zaza rejoined Juventus from fellow Serie A side Sassuolo for a €18 million fee in 2015, before having been involved in a co-ownership deal with both the clubs after joining from Sampdoria.

The duo of Southampton and West Ham United are also interested in acquiring Zaza's services.
