Napoli have announced the signing of Marko Rog, after a long summer chasing his signature.

The Croatian starlet has agreed to a one-year-loan with the Partenopei who have an option to turn the move permanent for a reported €12.5 million euros.

The 21-year-old arrives from Dinamo Zagreb, who've been picked apart of their stars this summer after Marko Pjaca left for Napoli's Serie A rivals Juventus earlier in the window.

Rog is a versatile midfielder and is the sixth new face through the doors at the Stadio San Paolo.

Building for the future

It has been rather clear that they wish to build for the future and despite being a hard pill to swallow initially, the sale of Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus has went a long way in allowing them to achieve their ambitions.

Arek Milik (22) came in for the Argentine and will be tasked with netting the lionshare of the clubs goals this term. He has started in fine form with two goals in two appearances for his new side.

Midfielders Piotr Zielinski (22) and Amadou Diawara (19) from Udinese and Bologna respectively give a completely new look to the Napoli midfield with Rog included having both joined earlier on.

Other signings include the more experienced heads of Lorenzo Tonelli (26) and Emanuele Giaccherini (31), the latter of whom impressed at this Summer's EURO 2016 tournament.

More deals to be done?

Napoli have spent approximately 2/3 of the fee recieved for Higuain and another signing before the mercato shuts on Wednesday can't be ruled out. Former striker Edinson Cavani's name has been mentioned but his agent and brother told Napoli's radio station Radio Kiss Kiss "to date there hasn’t been any contact with Napoli." He did go on to say however that the Paris St. Germain forward is "very happy" with the affection the Napoli faithful are showing him.
