Juventus have completed a three year loan signing of Juan Cuadrado from Chelsea, meaning the winger will stay in Turin until 2019 should all go to plan.

It's seen as a bizarre move by some, the length of the deal that is, with two year loan moves extremely rare in football, let alone three years.

Juve again offer winger Chelsea escape rout

However, Cuadrado gratefully accepted the chance to return to the side where he spent last season, after a nightmare spell at Stamford Bridge in the second half of the 2014-15 season, barley featuring despite the Blues paying over £20million for his signature at the start of February.

Seemingly not fancied by Jose Mourinho, Cuadrado was farmed back out to Italy, where he managed to put in some improved performances, enough for the Italian giants to come back in for him this summer.

Juventus will pay a total loan fee of £12million over the three years, in payments of four million every year, with an option to make the deal permanent for £8.4million at the end of the three years, as Cuadrado will have just a year left on his Chelsea contract by then.

Reports suggested that Chelsea boss, ex-Juve manager, Antonio Conte was keen to keep Cuadrado at Stamford Bridge, seemingly with the thought that he could revive the winger's career by allowing him to play a part in his squad this season.

Juve have strengthened hugely this summer

However, Cuadrado was more than keen to add to Juve's long list of signing's for the summer, joining the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Gonzalo Higuain, Mehdi Benatia and Dani Alves at Juventus Stadium, as the Old Lady look for another league title and improved success in the Champions League.

The Columbian will hope to be part of the squad for Juventus' next Serie A game, against Sassuolo a week on Sunday, as they bid to maintain their 100% start to the season.
