Unfortunately that's all we have time for this evening. We'll have much more reaction across the site. I've been Sam Smith and until next time, goodbye!

England certainly weren't particularly convincing but it's a win for Sam Allardyce in his first game in charge. When England are World Cup winners in two years time, we'll all look back at this day when the road to glory begun with a late win again Slovakia, won't we? Won't we?!

Well, well, well. When all looked down and out, with ten-man Slovakia seemingly holding on for a point, Adam Lallana squeezes home the winner in the fifth-minute of stoppage time.

90 +6 - Full time: Slovakia 0-1 England

What a time to score your first international goal, eh? Lallana creeps a shot between the goalkeeper's legs with literally the last kick of the game.

GOOAAAAAAAAALLL FOR ENGLAND!!!!! ADAM LALLANA!!

90 +2 - play has now restarted.

90 - four minutes to be added on. However, will probably be more with Slovakia's goalkeeper down 'injured'.

90 - Walcott has the ball in the net but his celebration is met by the linesman's flag.

89 - Sturridge goes for goal rather than creating an opportunity and shoots straight at the goalkeeper. Frustrating.

87 - Slovakia have a throw-in high up the pitch.

86 - Excellent pass from Rooney in behind to Walcott who completely misses the target. Linesman's flag goes up, though.

86 - Slovakia are wasting every bit of time that they possibly can.

85 - Stones does really well to create space on the edge of the box before teeing up Lallana who drags his shot wide.

84 -Sturridge fails to connect properly with a Walcott cross. Ball sails wide. Time running out.

82 - England really piling the pressure on. Could this be de ja vu following the 0-0 in France? Meanwhile, England have a free-kick in a dangerous position.

81 - Sturridge replaces Kane.

78 - Daniel Sturridge preparing to come on.

77 - Kane now has a volley blocked. Goal surely coming.

76 - Lallana hits the post!

75 - Walcott can't control a really good pass from Alli. Arsenal man would have been through.

71 - Theo Walcott replaces Raheem Sterling.

70 - Poor from the referee. Alli is fouled, waits for an advantage but then blows for a foul as Sterling was through. Allardyce and England frustrated.

69 - Alli almost puts Lallana through on goal but the goalkeeper thwarts the Liverpool man.

65 - Much more intensity from England. Alli almost gets on the end of a shot-cum-cross. England now have a corner.

64 - England change: Dele Alli replaces Jordan Henderson.

64 - Lallana fires over after a neat bit of build-up play.

62 - Rose heads away Svento's cross. Corner for Slovakia.

60 - Lallana's cross is overhit and Rooney can't jump high enough to header. Dele Alli preparing to enter the action.

A second view shows Skrtel stamped on Kane after the England forward fell following the foul. Nasty from the former Liverpool defender.

57 - RED CARD! Skrtel concedes a free-kick and is sent-off for a second yellow card.

56 - The corner is cleared by Cahill.

55 - Rose is caught out but retreats quickly to turn the eventual cross behind for a corner.

52 - Rooney's free-kick is headed back across goal by Henderson but Kozacik gathers.

52 - Kane is fouled by Skrtel but the referee doesn't produce the second yellow card. Last chance for the Slovakia skipper.

51 - Kane gets away down the right but his cross deflects into the goalkeeper's hands.

49 - Henderson has a half-volley from the edge of the box which sails over. England much better so far.

49 - Dier concedes a free-kick as he contests the ball in the box.

48 - England win a corner following a feat passing move. Ball, however, is headed away by Skrtel. England have another corner, though, as Sterling's shot is deflected behind.

47 - Wonderful skill from Sterling to turn away from Pekaric, who brings the winger down.

46 - The second half has begun.

Teams are back out. Slovakia will get us underway.

We'll have the second half live soon.

England would have liked an early goal to settle any nerves in Allardyce's first game. It will now have to come in the second half.

We head in goalless in Slovakia but both sides will feel they should be ahead. Sterling has had England's best chance but Svento should definitely have put the hosts ahead when he just missed the ball when a low cross flashed in front of goal.

45 +1 - Half-time.

45 - one minute added on.

Stones moving into midfield to create a five-man midfield when England have long spells of possession.

43 - Kane is dragged to the floor by Skrtel as the England forward gets away down the left but not even a free-kick is given. Definite foul. Referee makes the incorrect decision and Slovakia would have been down to ten men having already had Skrtel booked.

41 - Rooney's corner is headed clear. England not been great from set pieces.

41 - Kane's shot is deflected away for a corner.

38 - Close! Sterling gets lucky, receiving possession in the penalty area, but shoot just wide!

37 - Slovakia should be ahead! Rose dithers but loses possession, resulting cross is missed right in front of goal by Svento.

34 - Slovakia earn a corner but the referee blows for a foul.

32 - England taking slight risks by passing out from the back. Stones is tripped and fouled by the over-eager Slovakian high press.

29 - Slovakia try to break following an England attack but the ball finds its way to Hart.

26 - Skrtel does well to header Rooney's cross but concedes a corner. Rooney's corner is caught by the goalkeeper.

25 - Skrtel is booked for seemingly elbowing Kane. Free-kick in a good position.

24 - Really good pass from Henderson between the lines finds Sterling but his touch is poor.

22 - Excellent chance! Walker's low cross is completely missed by Kane. The Spurs striker kicked their air rather than the ball. Should be 1-0 to England.

19 - England clear and counter-attack. Henderson wins a throw-in near the attacking corner flag.

18 - Stones now concedes a free-kick in a dangerous position.

16 - Poor set piece from England. Rooney goes short to Lallana and they take a while to play a one-two. The former's cross is the overhit.

15 - England win a corner.

13 - Travelling 2,000 England fans making lots of noise so far.

10 - Very harsh free-kick awarded for a foul by Rooney. Lunged in but only made contact with the ball.

9 - England press Slovakia quickly as they look to break and Dier concedes a throw-in on halfway.

England have started extremely narrowly, particularly on the left. Only true width being offered by Rose and Walker.

7 - Cahill heads away and Sterling wins a free-kick in the defensive third.

6 - Rose concedes a free-kick for a foul on Pekaric. Good position for Slovakia.

5 - Sterling has the opportunity to bring the ball down and cross but his touch is poor and Slovakia have a goal kick.

2 - Rooney's corner is cleared but England have a throw in the far side.

2 - Rose wins an early corner.

1 - England get us underway.

Kick-off imminent. Can Big Sam start with a win?

Now for Slovakia's anthem.

National anthems about to commence. England's up first.

Players are in the tunnel preparing to come out.

Allardyce: [I feel] nervous, of course." Adds that the priority "is to win."

25 minutes until kick off in Slovakia. Stay tuned for all the action.

Serbian Milorad Mazic will referee this evening's World Cup Qualifier. The 43-year-old's career includes officiatig the 2014 Europa League second-leg between Valencia and Sevilla while also being the man in the middle when Germany played Portugal at the 2014 World Cup. Mazic showed a red card to Pepe during the match.

A reminder of Sam Allardyce's first England line-up: Hart; Walker, Cahill, Stones, Rose; Dier, Henderson; Lallana, Rooney, Sterling; Kane.

Slovakia team: Kozacik; Pekaric, Skrtel, Durica, Gregus, Hubocan, Hamsik, Svento, Mak, Duris, Pecovsky.

Stay tuned as we will have more build-up closer to kick-off, before bringing you all the action in our Live Score Commentary.

Despite Allardyce’s squad being similar to the one that travelled with Hodgson to France in the summer, there is one opportunity for a player to make a senior international debut in the form of Michail Antonio. The West Ham United winger – who can also play as a right-back - has impressed for the Hammers since arriving from Nottingham Forest last summer. Antonio has a very similar story to that of fellow England team-mate Jamie Vardy having been playing for non-league side Tooting and Mitcham just nine years ago.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw did not travel with the squad to Slovakia, despite being named in the 23-man squad and having trained at St. George’s Park during the week. It is believed that it is a fitness precaution as the left-back has only recently returned from a broken leg that he suffered at the beginning of last season.

Allardyce surprisingly announced his first England line-up 48 hours before kick-off. It is: Hart; Walker, Cahill, Stones, Rose; Dier, Henderson; Lallana, Rooney, Sterling; Kane. We will have the Slovakia team as soon as we receive it.

Slovakia are currently ranked 24th in the current FIFA rankings. Their highest-ever ranking was fourteenth in August 2015 and their lowest was 150th in 1993. The Falcons have some very recognisable faces in their ranks, most notably Marek Hamsik of Napoli and national team captain and former Liverpool defender, Martin Skrtel.

The match will be played in the City Arena Stadium in Trnava. Although the stadium was heavily reconstructed between 2013 and 2015, the maximum capacity of the ground is only 19,200.

Slovakia have scored just twice in the four previous meetings between the nations and have failed to net in the last two. England have won three of the four games in a fixture which only spans back to 2002, when the two sides were matched in the 2004 European Championship qualifying group.

England’s opponents, Slovakia, also had a very mixed summer. Jan Kozak’s side accumulated four points in Group B and were one of the ‘best’ third-placed finishers and narrowly advanced to the knockout round following the infamous 0-0 with England. Their last 16 opponents, Germany, were much more ruthless than Roy Hodgson’s side had been in the previous outing, as goals from Jerome Boateng, Mario Gomez and Julian Draxler secured an easy 3-0 rout.

Sam Allardyce is set to make his bow in international football and a win would ease many nerves. The new Three Lions boss has come under fire for picking a distinctively similar squad to the one that so miserably failed at Euro 2016, namely in the underwhelming 0-0 draw with today’s opponents.
