Unfortunately, that's all we've got time for tonight. I've been Oliver Emmerson, taking you through Atletico Madrid's 1-0 win over Bayern Munich. Until next time, goodnight!

Bayern had moments of quality, and should have scored through Müller or Lewandowski, but they can't have too many complaints about their defeat.

Just as the semi-final first leg last season went, it's ended 1-0 to the hosts here tonight, Carrasco's fantastic goal in the first half deciding it.

Full-time: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich (Carrasco)

90+5: This is what Atletico are best at, seeing the game out. Solid in defence, controlled when they get the ball back, they'll take three points here. Robben with half a chance, Oblak saves his header.

90+2: Thomas Partey, who became a familiar figure in last season's Champions League, comes on for Griezmann.

90+1: Oooh! Half the ground thought it was 2-0 as the ball broke for Gameiro from a corner, the striker's powerful effort hitting the side netting, somehow!

90: Godin lashes over in the area after a well worked free-kick, as five minutes of stoppage time are announced.

89: Substitute Robben gets onto the end of an Alaba cross, heading over.

86: There's a short break as Vidal slips when tackling Saul, making for a pretty poor challenge and both players in need of treatment. The referee recognises the nature of the challenge, and so only awards a yellow.

82: MISSED! Griezmann strikes the bar!! Chance gone, the Frenchman rattling the bar just to the right of Neuer, who stayed still in the middle of his goal. Will he come to pay for that miss?

81: Penalty to Atletico!!! Vidal brings down Filipe Luis in the area, and there's a chance to make it two!

80: Filipe Luis has a pop from some distance, and it's straight at Neuer.

79: Another summer signing brought on by Diego Simeone, Gaitan replacing Fernando Torres.

77: So close! Robert Lewandoswki has been extremely quiet tonight, but should have equalised there. Alonso with the delivery, the Polish striker relatively unchallenged in the middle of the box, but his header goes the wrong side of the post.

76: Ribery afforded too much room as he cuts inside, eventually pulling the trigger, Saul well positioned to deflect the ball over the bar.

72: The man who has made the difference so far, Carrasco, is replaced by summer signing Kevin Gameiro.

68: Torres is really having an off night. Griezmann plays a lovely ball in for him, and he's in if he can get it under control, but he can't. 1-0 it remains.

67: Carrasco going for his second of the night, he bends a beauty from the edge of the box, Neuer forced to palm it around the post.

66: Thiago off for Kimmich, Ancelotti having now taken off two players who at times looked dangerously close to picking up second yellow cards.

62: Ancelotti makes his first change of the night, one in defence. Hummels replacing Boateng.

61: Atletico getting more control of the ball, Saul given time and space to shoot from distance as his driven shot flies just wide of the goal.

58: Juanfran evades the challenge of Vidal to drive into the area, Boateng across very well to put the ball out for a corner.

56: Another set-piece, this time in the form of a corner, comes and goes for the visitors, who are struggling to make an impact at the start of the second half.

52: Quiet start to the second half, Bayern failing to profit from an Alonso free-kick taken from deep.

45: Back underway in Spain!

That's the end of the first half, one that was fairly evenly matched, but one that Atleti lead through Carrasco's superb finish. Thomas Müller should have put Bayern ahead beforehand, but didn't, and paid the price as his side now trail.

Half-time: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich (Carrasco)

40: Bayern frustrated, even more so now as Boateng becomes the latest name to go into the book for a follow through on Saul.

36: It's an absolutely superb goal from the winger, who scores just the third Champions League goal of his career. Bursting into the box down the left, he opted not to play Torres in after a superb pass by Griezmann, instead crashing the ball across goal and into Manuel Neuer's net.

GOALLL! Carrasco opens the scoring for the hosts!

34: Another good chance for Fernando Torres, getting the ball under control on the left hand side of the area, lashing into the side netting.

33: Thiago yellow carded for a cheap foul.

28: Lovely cross from Lahm, Lewandowski rises highest to meet it but can't quite angle the header far away enough from Oblak to open the scoring.

22: Off the post! Atleti growing into the game now, Torres peels off at the back post from a corner, the ball is flicked on and he somehow can only head it onto the post from a matter of yards out. An awful miss!

19: Up at the other end, Carrasco stings Neuer's palms after driving across the Bayern defence before rifling a shot towards the near post, a good save from the German 'keeper.

16: Alaba has a dig from the resulting free-kick, clipping the top of the wall and out the ball goes for a corner.

15: Saul Niguez, who scored that wonderful previously mentioned goal against Bayern last season, goes into the book for a poor challenge on Vidal.

13: What a save! Thiago dinks a lovely ball over the top of the defence for Müller, who gets a clean connection on his volley from what looked like 10 yards out, but Oblak got a brilliant hand to it to keep the ball out.

12: Fernando Torres isn't a happy man. Having done well to win the ball in the box, he checked back on Martinez before looking to get a shot away, only for his fellow Spaniard to win the ball back, in a way that the forward deemed unfair, but the referee did not.

9: Ribery looks to accelerate down the left hand side but is brought to a halt by the sliding Savic. The defender's ex-team, Manchester City, are surprisingly 1-0 down at Celtic tonight.

5: A quiet start in this one, albeit just a few minutes in. It'll be interesting to see how attacking either side goes, given that they'll be competing for top spot in the group come matchday six.

0: Kick-off, underway in this huge Champions League clash.

The players are out and we're ready to begin!

Bayern Munich XI: Neuer, Lahm, Martinez, Boateng, Alaba, Alonso, Thiago, Vidal, Riberty, Müller, Lewandowski.

Atletico Madrid XI: Oblak, Juanfran, Godin, Savic, Luis, Gabi, Saul, Koke, Carrasco, Griezmann, Torres.

Team news is in!

If Atleti are to get the win tonight, you'd imagine that Griezmann, a reported front-runner for this year's Balon d'Or award, will be key to any victory. Somewhat amusingly, it was revealed earlier this week that rather than Simeone being afraid that Griezmann would leave this summer, it would be the other way around, the forward revealing "I was afraid that he would not be here. I still need to work with him, learn from him. Atleti needs him."

It's thought that the hosts tonight may well look to play for the draw given Bayern's form, and you can hardly blame them given their exceptional defensive record under Simeone. Their defensive strength is something that was acknowledged by Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti in his pre-match press conference, the Italian saying; "It has always been difficult against Atletico and I think it will be another difficult match on Wednesday. They are a very well organised team. Atletico have a very clear philosophy. They are very organised and have recorded some great results in recent years."

Coming into the game, both are also in good domestic form. Bayern have five wins from five in the Bundesliga, and have only conceded one goal in that time, scoring 15. Atletico are unbeaten in La Liga, having scored 12 and conceded two, but have only won three of their six games so far, having started the season with some frustrating draws.

Both sides won their first game of the group stage a couple of weeks ago. Atletico were made to work for their win, but did get it, beating PSV 1-0 in Holland, whilst Bayern destroyed Rostov in some style, winning by five goals to nil.

These two teams did of course meet in last season's competition, at the semi-final stage no less. With Pep Guardiola battling to reach the final in a bid to win the competition in his final season at Bayern, it was Diego Simeone who prevailed over a hugely entertaining two legs of football. Atleti won 1-0 at home thanks to a magnificent individual goal from Saul Niguez, with Antoine Griezmann's goal in Germany enough to send the Spanish side through on away goals despite a 2-1 defeat. They would go on to lose the final on penalties to bitter rivals Real Madrid, losing out to their city rivals for the second time in three years.

We've already had some excitement in the Champions League this week, with wins for English sides Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City. It's a week of Spain - Germany, as Real Madrid drew 2-2 away at Borussia Dortmund last night, whilst Barcelona face Borussia Monchengladbach tonight, plus of course this game right here. Elsewhere in this group tonight, FC Rostov meet PSV.
