RB Leipzig continued their impressive start to the Bundesliga season by downing VfL Wolfsburg 1-0 at the Volkswagen Arena to move up to third in the table.
Emil Forsberg netted a stunning winner in the 70th minute, atoning for his missed penalty in the first half, to give his team a deserved victory on the day.
On the other hand, the Wolves were very disappointing yet again as the pressure continues to mount on Dieter Hecking as he fails to turn his team's poor form around.
Host's made a good start but tailed off
The Wolves made a really good start to the game as Julian Draxler forced a good save early on from Peter Gulascsi, who got down well to keep out a well-struck shot.
Vieirinha then went close soon after but after making space in the box, he dragged his left-footed shot just wide of the goal.
A moment of madness, out of nowhere, then happened from Koen Casteels that should have resulted in the visitors taking a lead against the run of play. Casteels took a heavy touch and Timo Werner nicked in to take the ball off him and the goalkeeper trying to make up for his error, brought the attacker down and gave away a penalty.
Forsberg missed a penalty
Forsberg stepped up to take it but he put his shot well wide of the goal to really let the hosts off the hook.
After the penalty miss, the game became very even as both sides had their chances to go forward and get the opening goal but their final passes just wasn't paying off.
The visitors on the break especially if they had taken more care of the ball, they could have been in front as the home side were struggling with the pace that visitors had up front as the game was goalless at half-time.
Forsberg scored a stunning winner
The second half was a pretty poor spectacle, despite Yussuf Poulsen having a couple of half chances which he missed, until a moment of magic from the visitors put them in front.
Forsberg, who missed the first half penalty for the hosts, curled a beautiful shot into the net past the helpless Casteels who could do nothing about it as he was well beaten.
After the goal, the home side tried to press for the equaliser but they couldn't create anything of note, as the visitors in truth should have probably scored a second before the end of the game.
Oliver Burke, on as a second-half substitute, was played through one on one with Casteels by Naby Keita but as he tried to stab the ball past the goalkeeper, he missed as an outstretched leg from Casteels kept it out.
Host's fail to get back into the game adding more misery to the team
That was the last chance in a game that the host's problems showed once again as despite a decent opening to the game, they fell off the pace and were punished by the visitors who move up to third in the table after matchday seven.
