Unfortunately, that's all we've got time for. I've been Oliver Emmerson, taking you through Barcelona's 4-0 win over Manchester City! Until next time, goodnight.

City didn't play that badly, at all. They've had better results than this in recent years against Barcelona and not played nearly as well, but it was individual mistakes which cost them tonight.

All over on a sour night for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City. Gunned down by Lionel Messi and friends, who were only too happy to tear their visitors apart after Claudio Bravo's moment of madness resulted in a red card.

Full-time: Barcelona 4-0 Manchester City (Messi x3, Neymar)

90: Two minutes added on, somewhat odd given the five minute delay after Bravo's red card.

89: No stopping that, which we haven't said about any of the first three goals. Messi to Neymar, who does the rest of the work himself floating past Otamendi and Stones in the area before tucking the ball past Caballero.

GOAL! Neymar makes up for his penalty miss!

SAVED! Cabellero keeps it out! Poor penalty from Neymar, the 'keeper down low to his right to push it away.

86: Penalty to Barcelona! Messi dances through the area, fouled by Kolarov, Neymar to take...

82: Neymar finding room at the back post, latching on to a lovely ball in from Rakitic, Caballero down well to save.

79: Andre Gomes comes on for Barcelona, replacing Iniesta. City look more like scoring the fourth goal of the game. Aguero finally on, Gundogan off.

74: Having come off the bench to replace Pique, Mathieu has been sent off for two yellow cards in five minutes, both for fouls on Raheem Sterling.

Another red! Mathieu sent off!

71: Mathieu booked after halting a good Sterling run, Kolarov's free-kick beaten away by the goalkeeper.

69: Lionel Messi's had a hat-trick without really having to do much. More sloppy defending from City allowed Suarez to run into the box in all sorts of room, and he side-footed to the Argentine, Messi gratefully tapping in for his third of the evening.

GOAL! MESSI HAT-TRICK!

64: City aren't behind due to a lack of chances created tonight. Gundogan threads De Bruyne through with a cutting pass, Ter Stegen with a strong hand to the ball to save the Belgian's shot.

61: De Bruyne gives the ball away in midfield, Iniesta slips it to Messi who drops a shoulder on the edge of the penalty area before curling a shot into the near post.

GOAL! Messi gets his second!

58: Nolito off for Clichy, whilst Zabaleta is replaced by Caballero, who of course takes Bravo's place in goal. Where's Joe Hart when you need him?

55: Pablo Zabaleta is down now for City, and doesn't look like getting up soon after a tangle with Digne. We still haven't resumed play from the red card, and a stretcher is on the pitch.

53: Simple punt over the top by Barca, Bravo sends his clearance straight at Suarez after slicing it. Suarez shoots straightaway, and Bravo - outside his area - throws his hands in the air to stop the ball, and is of course sent off.

RED CARD FOR BRAVO!

51: Barcelona now looking to strike back with some chances of their own, Samuel Umtiti heads wide from a corner.

47: City looking to start the second half as they finished the first, attacking. De Bruyne bursts down the right wing, his cross stinging the palms of Ter Stegen.

45: Back underway in Spain.

No Sergio Aguero on at half-time for City, they start the second half with the same side.

A fairly entertaining half there, where Manchester City have done fairly well but are behind after a costly slip by Fernandinho allowed Lionel Messi in to score. However, they have created chances - City - mostly towards the end of the half, which will give them confidence that they can still go on to take something from this game.

Half-time: Barcelona 1-0 Manchester City (Messi)

45+2: Great run from Sterling, marauding down the right wing, De Bruyne stabbing his crossed ball into the side netting.

45+1: Barcelona up the other end now, Messi sending Suarez clear before Bravo makes a tremendous save!

45: Inches away! A free-kick is swept into the box, John Stones rising highest and nodding just wide of the post! Manchester City nearly level. Two minutes of added time.

43: City have had the better of the last 10 minutes, Nolito winning another corner which is taken short to Gundogan, who floats an effort onto the top of the goal.

39: Barcelona with their second enforced change of the first half, Mathieu on for the clearly uncomfortable Pique, who hadn't shaken off that earlier challenge from Silva.

38: Close! Fantastic run by Gundogan, weaving through challenges in the penalty area before a curling effort forces Ter Stegen into action. Great stop from the 'keeper.

37: De Bruyne, who's had a quiet half, almost inadvertedly scores with a low cross that went closer to the front post than he'd initially wanted. Just after, Nolito is down the left forcing a save. Better from the visitors.

32: Messi swings a free-kick in, Rakitic running ahead of Otamendi only to head over the bar from a promising position.

30: David Silva booked for a poor challenge on his countryman Pique.

27: Barcelona enjoying themselves now, passing the ball around as we know they can. Man City fans must be wondering how quickly they can get Sergio Aguero on. Perhaps Leroy Sane too, to test Lucas Digne?

21: Close! Barcelona have got their tails up now, City dazed in defence as Neymar slides the ball into Suarez's path, the Uruguayan striking the side netting.

17: It's unlucky for Manchester City, it truly is after a good start. The ball breaks loose in the area, Fernandinho looks to get it clear but slips and Messi is the first to react, rounding a helpless Bravo before tapping the ball into an empty net. 1-0 Barca!

GOAL! Messi slots Barcelona ahead!

10: Yup, Alba forced off after just 10 minutes. Lucas Digne on.

9: Concern for the hosts as Jordi Alba is down clutching his leg, signalling to the bench. He's been struggling with a hamstring injury in recent weeks, and it might be something to do with that.

7: Manchester City have spent the first seven minutes or so mainly in Barcelona's half, Rakitic's frustration boiling over as he gives Kolarov a kick in the leg.

3: City starting fairly brightly as they push Neymar away as he advances, before Ter Stegen is forced off his line to claim a low cross.

0: Kick-off in Barcelona. Mascherano starting at right-back for Barcelona, they are playing their usual 4-3-3.

The two teams are out onto the pitch, the Champions League anthem blaring around the stadium. Hopefully it'll be a classic!

Reports suggesting that Sergio Aguero hasn't emerged for the warm up alongside Manchester City's other substitutes, perhaps more to come on that story?

Manchester City have had a man sent off in three of their last four games against Barcelona, however you'd expect that Guardiola will be urging them to keep their discipline tonight.

The big team news there is that Sergio Aguero isn't in the Manchester City side, he starts from the bench with Pep Guardiola seemingly opting to use either Nolito or De Bruyne at the top of his side. And is that a three man defence from Barcelona?

Manchester City: Bravo, Zabaleta, Otamendi, Stones, Kolarov, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Silva, Sterling, Nolito, De Bruyne.

Barcelona: Ter Stegen, Pique, Umtiti, Mascherano, Busquets, Rakitic, Alba, Iniesta, Suarez, Messi, Neymar.

The team news in, and a surprise in the Manchester City line up!

Having looked superb in winning their opening six Premier League games, Manchester City have toiled a little lately, losing their first game of the season to Tottenham Hotspur, 2-0 at White Hart Lane. They couldn't bounce back at the weekend either, missing two penalties in a 1-1 draw at home to Everton. However, they're still top of the Premier League after eight games, ahead of Arsenal on goal difference.

Each side has suffered disappointing results in recent weeks, with Barcelona going down 4-3 against Celta Vigo before the international break, returning to action on Saturday with a convincing 4-0 win oveer Deportivo la Coruna. They currently sit fourth in La Liga, two points off top spot.

Oppositely, Barca had an easy time against Celtic, demolishing them 7-0 at home in the first week of action, before struggling against Gladbach last time out, needing to come from behind to secure all three points thanks to a 2-1 win in Germany.

Indeed, Guardiola's side have only taken four points from their first two group games. Starting with a convincing home victory against Borussia Monchengladbach, they went on to struggle away at Celtic in a topsy-turvy game, drawing 3-3 after coming from behind three times on the night.

These two teams have met eachother a few times in this competition over the last few years, with Barcelona having enjoyed superiority. They've met in the last 16 round for the last two consecutive years, with the Spanish side going through on each occasion. City will be hoping for revenge here, as a defeat could see them slip to third in the group.

Last night's headlines in the Champions League saw Leicester City keep their 100% record up, whilst Tottenham Hotspur drew 0-0 away at Bayer Leverkusen. There were also wins for the likes of Juventus, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund

This is surely the most heavily anticipated of this week's European clashes, with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola returning to Barcelona, where he spent over a decade as player and then manager, bringing unprecedented success to the club, combined with a fantastic playing style. He won two Champions League titles as a boss in Spain, and will be hoping to land his first in England this season.

Good evening everyone, and welcome to VAVEL UK's live minute-by-minute commentary of tonight's UEFA Champions League fixture between Barcelona and Manchester City. Kick-off at the Camp Nou is set for 19:45, but stick with me - Oliver Emmerson - until then as we build up to the game and get the confirmed team news.
