Wolfsburg: Team News

Wolfsburg manager Oliver Glasner confirmed that William, Ignacio Camacho and Josuha Guilavogui, Yannick Gerhardt all picked up injuries in an internal game during training and will all be missing. Wolfsburg will also be without top goalscorer, Wout Weghorst, after he picked up his fifth yellow card last time out. He has scored 11 times in the Bundesliga this season.

Augsburg: Team News

Augsburg are still without defender Simon Asta, who is out for the remainder of the season due to a cruciate ligament rupture. They also have two players doubtful for the fixture, Fabian Giefer remains a doubt with a foot injury and Julian Schieber remains a doubt due to a calf injury.

Augsburg without their new manager!

Augsburg brought new manager, Heiko Herrlich, in to try to ensure their survival in the Bundesliga. He signed in March, however, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Heiko has not taken charge of his new side yet.

Yesterday, news broke that Augsburg would be without their new manager due to him breaking Germany’s lockdown rules. Heiko left the team's hotel to buy toothpaste and sun cream, meaning he is banned from the game and will have to wait even longer to take charge of Augsburg.

Wolfsburg looking for Europe

Wolfsburg will be looking to qualify for a European competition back-to-back for the first time in three seasons. Wolfsburg sit one point behind the final Europa League spot occupied by Schalke, but they will need to be picking up maximum points as there are at least four other sides competing for that final place. They away side are unbeaten in their last six games and will be looking to continue this run by picking up the win.

Augsburg’s fight for survival

The home side sit five points above the relegation playoff spot and will need to pick up points wherever they can, if they are to ensure their safety. Augsburg are winless in their last six league fixtures and have conceded 13 goals during that run. Augsburg have been in the Bundesliga for nine consecutive seasons and they will hope they can make it to ten, next season.
