Watch Dortmund's second goal

All eyes on Tuesday

Dortmund were not at their best today but they will be happy they picked up all three points! Bayern play later against Frankfurt. Dortmund are now 1 point behind the leaders.

A tricky game for both sides, with Dortmund not being in top gear. However, Dortmund once again beat Wolfsburg and Wolfsburg fail to score against Dortmund again.

Full Time

Wolfsburg 0-2 Borussia Dortmund

The corner is met by a strong punch from Burki

The corner is just too high for Weghorst but Wolfsburg keep the ball in play and it goes out for another corner.

Brekalo makes a good run down the line with the ball, which goes out for a corner.

A good ball through by Sancho to Haaland who battles for the ball but just runs it out of play.

There has been 4 minutes added on

Wolfsburg look down as they once again fail to find Weghorst from another poor cross.

A great tackle by Schmelzer to stop a very dangerous attack by Wolfsburg.

85| Yellow Card - Arnold

Arnold catches the Dortmund player with a flailing arm.

84| Substitution - Wolfsburg

On: Victor

Off: Mehmedi

83| Substitution - Dortmund

Off: Delaney

On: Balerdi

Off: Guerreiro

On: Schmelzer

81| RED CARD - Klaus

After checking VAR, the referee sends off Klaus. Klaus and Akanji battle for the ball and Klaus stands on the back of his calf. It looked to be unintentional but the referee thinks otherwise.

The referee is looking at a possible red card for Wolfsburg player Klaus who stands on the back of the Dortmund's player calf.

78| Substitution - Dortmund

On: Reyna

Off: Hazard

A fantastic counter attack led by Jadon Sancho. Wolfsburg continue to let Sancho run forward with the ball and he puts in into the patch of Hakiki, who smashes the ball under the keeper!

Brekalo instead takes the free kick and the ball drops to centre-back, Brooks at the back post who smashes the ball over. Wolfsburg fail to utilise the height of their players from set-pieces.

74| Yellow Card - Hazard

Once again Hazard brings down Mbabu, which stops a very promising counter attack by Wolfsburg. Arnold will take the free kick.

The corner is met by Casteels in net and the ball is cleared. Another poor corner by BVB.

Sancho moves the ball out wide very well to start the attack and this leads to BVB winning a corner.

The corner is headed away by the Wolfsburg defence.

Dortmund get a corner after Guerreiro's shot is deflected wide. Haaland gets a run with the ball for the first time in the game and is immediately effective with the ball.

Brekalo takes the free kick but it goes just over all the players heads and the ball is cleared but Wolfsburg get the ball back again and come straight back at Dortmund.

A free kick in a good crossing area for Wolfsburg after Hazard fouls Mbabu on the wing.

Dortmund are dropping very deep and allowing Wolfsburg to move further forward with the ball. BVB look like they are missing their leader, Hummels at the back.

A pull back cross by Klaus goes past everyone but Wolfsburg are showing signs of getting back into the game.

65| Yellow Card - Brooks

Brooks is shown a yellow card after chopping Jadon Sancho down after he was breaking away. A quick introduction into the game for Sancho

64| Substitution - Dortmund

On: Sancho

Off: Brandt

63| Substitution - Wolfsburg

On: Klaus

Off: Roussillon

On: Brekalo

Off: Ginczek

A lovely strike by Steffan, produces a comfortable save by the Dortmund keeper, Burki. But the chances are coming more often for Wolfsburg.

BVB let off the hook after a lovely ball across the six-yard box but no one could get on the end of it and a poor ball by Arnold allowed Dortmund to get back into shape.

60| Yellow Card - Ginczek

Ginczek is shown a yellow card after fouling and stopping the BVB counter attack.

Haaland is continuing to make great runs across the line but the service has not been there yet for the striker. BVB are content to pass the ball between each other and play it out wide, rather than looking for the through ball to Haaland.

Arnold smashes the ball into the Dortmund wall and the ball is cleared. Poor free-kick

54| Yellow Card - Delaney

Delaney fouls Arnold about 30 yards out, in the centre of the pitch and Wolfsburg have a good opportunity here.

Dortmund begin to show signs of better play after their slow start. Hakimi with some good skills out on the wing but Dortmund just lose the ball and foul the Wolfsburg defender.

Wolfsburg have started the better of the two sides and are being more aggressive. However, Dortmund are remaining relaxed.

A free kick for Wolfsburg falls to Ginczek at the back post but his shot goes way over. A positive start for Wolfsburg.

CHANCE MISSED for Wolfsburg!!

Weghorst muscles his way to the ball and plays in Steffan ,who is clear through on goal but he has tried to smash the ball into the back of the net and fires the ball over. Huge chance missed for Wolfsburg.

Emre Can has slotted into the centre of defence, replacing Hummels

Second Half

We're back underway with the second half

Substitution| Dortmund

On: Emre Can

Off: Hummels

Wolfsburg 33% - 67% BVB

Wolfsburg 1 - 3 BVB

Shots on Target

Wolfsburg 0 - 1 BVB

Hazard on Fire

Only Jadon Sancho (15) and Thomas Müller (16) have registered more assists than Hazard (12) this season.

BVB lead 1-0 in a game that has not had many talking points. It was clear than Wolfsburg plan was to hold a solid shape and press whenever possible and counter attack. Whereas, Dortmund have had to be patient but at times have been sloppy with the ball in the final third. Haaland has not seen much of the ball at all and will be looking to be more involved in the second half.

Half Time

Wolfsburg 0-1 Borussia Dortmund

Dortmund with a quick play which sees them move into the Wolfsburg half with two or three passes. The ball falls for Hazard on the edge of the box but he drags his shot just wide. A good chance for BVB.

It has been a frustrating first half for Wolfsburg striker, Weghorst who has not had the service he would have liked so far. The ball by Steffan over the top was well over hit.

Arnold takes the free kick but the ball is hit straight into Burki's hands. BVB held their line very well and the ball was overhit. A missed opportunity for Wolfsburg.

A free kick for Wolfsburg just inside the BVB half

Dortmund have slowed the game back down and begun to pass the ball very nicely.

Wolfsburg left-back, Roussillion has picked up a knock and is limping. We will see if he runs it off but if he goes off he will be a big loss for The Wolves.

Wolfsburg had been very solid in defence so far but BVB would not lay off the pressure and found themselves 1-0 up!

Dortmund have finally found the back of the net in this game. A quick build up play on the right hand side sees a lovely piece of skill by Brandt. The ball is then crossed along the floor into the box and Guerreiro is at the back post by himself and taps the ball into the back of the net!

Guerreiro taps the ball in at the back post to make it 1-0 Dortmund

Another frustrating end to BVB's attack. Dortmund need one of their players to make the magic happen because they have been very quiet. As soon as Dortmund win the ball, the Wolfsburg players all drop into a solid shape.

Wolfsburg are doing very well defensively so far in the game and are stopping Dortmund from creating anything decent. Haaland has been very quite so far.

Another poor ball by BVB is intercepted and Mehmedi crosses the ball deep into the Dortmund box but the Wolfsburg striker goes for goal and heads wide but should have headed the ball back across the box.

Haaland almost found himself through on goal but Delaney's pass was just over hit and the Wolfsburg keeper, Casteels is quick off his line to stop the danger.

Wolfsburg main threat is coming down the right-hand side from Mbabu. He has already put a number of good crosses into the Dortmund box but has not been able to find anyone yet. Dortmund will need to close the crosses down as Weghorst will find himself on the end of one soon.

Dortmund have the first shot of the game. A patient build up play leads to Hazard finding a little space on the edge of the box but his attempt goes wide of the post.

Dortmund have had 71% of possession so far in this game.

Wolfsburg are dropping into a solid shape with all eleven players behind the ball and Dortmund cannot find a way through this time.

BVB have controlled possession in the opening ten minutes and are beginning to control the game but Wolfsburg are keeping up their constant pressure.

A great passing build up by BVB in Wolfsburg's half leads to cross by Brandt but it is cleared with ease by the Wolfsburg defence.

A poor clearance by Burki is intercepted on the wing, which leads to a cross by Mbabu but it is well defended by Hummels and the keeper collects the ball.

Wolfsburg are trying to pressure the BVB players whenever they get the ball and forcing them to make mistakes.

A sloppy pass by the Dortmund defence leads to a cross by Roussilion but it goes straight into the keepers arms.

A high intensity start to the game by both teams. Both sets of players are looking good.

Borussia Dortmund Team News

Jadon Sancho and Emre Can are both expected to return back to the starting line-up this week with Delaney and Dahoud dropping to the bench. Dortmund will once again be without captain Marco Reus, who is rumoured to be out for the rest of the season, struggling with an adductor injury. Youngster Giovanni Reyna will probably be on the bench again this week but is rumoured to be fit, after pulling up in the warm up before last week’s game. Reyna was back fully training today.

Wolfsburg Team News

Top goalscorer Wout Weghorst will return to the starting XI, following a one-game suspension. Wolfsburg will once again be without captain, Joshua Guilavogui who is still side-lined with knee problems. Midfielder Yannick Gerhardt is also missing for this game, as he is still recovering from a facial fracture.

Erling Haaland

Haaland continued his tremendous form last week when he opened the scoring against Schalke. The Norwegian striker now has 10 goals for Dortmund this season in nine games, scoring a goal in the league every 60 minutes. Despite only making his debut in the Bundesliga in January, only ten players have scored more goals than the striker. Haaland will more than likely continue his goal scoring form against Wolfsburg this Saturday.

History not on Wolfsburg's side

The previous meeting between the two sides this season ended in a dominating 3-0 victory for Dortmund; with Hazard, Guerreiro and Götze grabbing the goals that day. Dortmund have won eight out of the last nine meetings between the teams, with the other being a 0-0 draw. You have to go back to September 2016 for the last time Wolfsburg scored in the league against Dortmund and even further back to May 2015, for the last time Wolfsburg beat Dortmund in the league. In the last nine league meetings Dortmund have scored 24 goals and only conceded 3.

Dortmund win Revierderby in Style

Dortmund returned to football in style with a dominating 4-0 victory over Revier rivals Schalke. Erling Haaland once again found himself on the scoresheet, with his tenth goal in nine games; whilst Raphaël Guerreiro scored a brace and Thorgan Hazard also got himself on the scoresheet. Dortmund managed to embarrass their rivals without the help of Marco Reus, Axel Witsel and Emre Can who were all side-lined and wonder kid Jadon Sancho also started on the bench.

Wolfsburg Return in Dramatic Fashion

Wolfsburg made a dramatic return to the Bundesliga last week after scoring a 91st minute winner against Augsburg. Wolfsburg were in control for the majority of the game with Mbabu and Otavio continually causing problems down the flanks. Both full-backs registered assists in the win against Augsburg, providing crosses which were turned in.

Kick-off Time

VfL Wolfsburg vs Borussia Dortmund will be played at the Volkswagen Arena, in Wolfsburg, Germany. The kick-off is scheduled at 14:30 GMT.
