1.FC Heidenheim: Team News

Heidenheim only have a few injury concerns of their own to deal with. Maximilian Thiel is out with a knee issue, while Oliver Husing hasn’t recovered from his ankle problem. There is a chance Arne Feick could make his return to the team, however, as he’s now fit after picking up a knock recently.

Werder Bremen: Team News

Bremen will be without defender Kevin Vogt, who’s suspended for the first leg due to yellow card accumulation. The midfield pair of Kevin Mohwald and Nuri Sahin are also unavailable for selection, as neither has recovered from the injuries that have ruled them out since the restart.

There is some good news for the Green-Whites, as Sebastian Langkamp has recently returned to training, and could feature if needed be. The player is still listed as doubtful at the moment, though.

Heidenheim looking up

1.FC Heidenheim. A relatively small club from a modest 15,000 capacity stadium. They've already set aside HSV, can they now spoil Bremen's hopes of staying up?

They've played well throughout this season and were gifted a position in the playoff through the most Hamburg of slip-ups from Hamburg. Their first leg is away in Bremen on Thursday night before they play them at home for the return - could we see Heidenheim in the Bundesliga next season?

Bremen's sights set on promotion

Werder Bremen's aim for the relegation playoff is simple. Win.

The green-whites have not played outside of the Bundesliga for forty years, which is a measure of just how much of a surprise it would be to see them drop down to the second tier

19:40a month ago

It's a massive game for both sides, Werder Bremen looking to avoid the drop and Heidenheim looking to achieve promotion to the Bundesliga
