The opening round of games has passed in the Bundesliga, and with just a week left of the transfer window, German clubs are looking to add to their squads.
VfL Wolfsburg's signing Aaron Hunt was injured in training this morning, although he looks fit to return to the squad tomorrow, whilst Hetha Berlin's Sebastian Langkamp was also taken to hospital for acute diagnosis following an injury.
Staying with Hertha, and Alexander Baumjohann has suffered another cruciate ligament injury to his right knee. The former Kaiserslautern and Schalke midfielder missed seven months of last season following a similar injury, making just nine appearances for Hertha in his debut season.
Hannover 96 have also confirmed that Lars Stindl will miss "several weeks" of action whilst midfielder Edgar Prib has successfully had surgery on his left knee.
On the transfer front, Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Mehdi Benatia from AS Roma for a fee of €24m plus bonuses on a five-year deal.
Assani Lukiyma has extended his contract with Werder Bremen, signing until 2017. The 28-year old DR Congo centre-back has been at the club since 2012, starting 18 times for Bremen last season. Lukiyma already has a goal to his name following Werder Bremen's 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin.
Wolfsburg target Lukas Podolski is likely to stay at Arsenal this season following his inclusion in the clubs Champions League tie against Besiktas. The Wolves are said to be looking to add to their attacking threat following the addition of Nicklas Bendtner.
SC Freiburg have completed the season-long loan signing of Dani Schahin from 1.FSV Mainz 05. The 25-year old forward has had a disappointing spell at Mainz following his move from Fortuna Düsseldorf last summer. Schahin only appeared on three occasions for Mainz, despite netting eight goals in 16 starts for Düsseldorf.
Freiburg have also waved goodbye to defender Fallou Diange who has joined Rennes, following his two year stay in the Bundesliga.
Following his debut in the Bundesliga, FC Köln defender Kevin Wimmer has been called up to the Austrian national team for their European qualifier against Sweden next month.
Wimmer, 21, told Express: "I am thrilled about the nomintaion, it's always nice to play for my country."
