Bayern Munich have confirmed the arrival of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal on a four-year contract. The deal is believed to be around the €35m mark, according to transfermarkt.

The Chilean joins the Bundesliga champions after winning the 2015 Copa America with Chile, as they beat Argentina 4-1 on penalties to claim the famous trophy. It is his second spell in the German top flight, having spent four seasons with Bayer Leverkusen.

Bundesliga and Serie A pedigree

During his time with the BayArena side, Vidal established himself as one of Europe's top midfielders and was quickly snapped up by the current Serie A title holders. 21 goals and 23 assists in 144 appearances from the middle of the park was reason enough for the Turin outfit to snap him up for €12m.

The 28-year-old furthered his development, winning four Serie A championships, one Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa Italianas along the way. He helped them reach the Champions League final last year, as Juventus fell agonisingly short of an historic treble.

Vidal also bettered his goalscoring record, netting 48 times in 171 games and notching up another 26 assists to boot. For the Chile national team, he has been a figurehead also, scoring 12 times after featuring nearly 70 times.

Vidal keen to make the move a success

Speaking to Bayern Munich's official website, Vidal said: "I am very pleased. This is a new step in my career and I hope to do well here." He added that he wants to help his new side "win titles" and that it is "a dream come true" for him.

Vidal admitted that he wanted "to take another big step in my [Vidal's] career". His desire is to "continue to develop and win important titles", such as the Champions League crown which eluded him in May.

The Chile midfielder said that it "didn't take too much" do convince him of the move and that his goal is to "succeed with Bayern". He also added that, "I am excited to be back playing in the Bundesliga again and I hope, naturally, to win it."
