Borussia Mönchengladbach announced on Tuesday that Tsiy William Ndenge had signed a professional contract with the club. The young midfielder has signed a long-term deal through until 2019.

A promising start to his career

Ndenge has been with the Foals since the summer of July 2013 when, after leaving Bayer Leverkusen, he was picked up by Euskirchen and snapped up by the Borussia-Park outfit a year later. The winger, who can also play in a central attacking midfield role, has notched up an impressive 17 goals and 17 assists in 67 through-out the two years he has been in Gladbach's youth teams.

It is perhaps more impressive that Ndenge is already a regular in their under-23 side, having scored once against Rot-Weiss Essen in 12 Regionalliga West games. In addition, four UEFA Youth League games have yielded four goals - all signs point towards a promising career ahead. He has some limited first team experience to boot, having trained and played with the team in pre-season. The 18-year-old hit the post and bar in a cameo appearance against Bursaspor.

Eberl and Ndenge excited about the future

Any questions about first-team involvement on a regular basis were quickly put to be by sporting director, Max Eberl: "Will has developed very well and we trust him to make it to the Bundesliga. From January he will train regularly with the pros."

The player himself also commented on the news, "I am delighted that I have received a professional contract. For me, this is an important step in the right direction." Despite the impressive start, Ndenge remained grounded: "At the same time this agreement is an incentive for me to continue to work hard."
