On Friday morning, RB Leipzig announced that they had extended the contracts of both Vitaly Janelt and Idrissa Touré.

The two youngsters will now remain at the Red Bulls until 2021, signing professional terms in the process.

Janelt is set to make the move up to RB Leipzig II for Regionalliga Nordost game time, though it is not yet certain what will happen with Touré.

Touré already has first-team experience

The 18-year-old of Guinean descent made his debut for the East German side at towards the end of last season, coming on as a late substitute against 1860 Munich.

Touré joined Leipzig from Tennis Borussia Berlin in January 2015 and has rapidly rose up the ranks, with both club and country.

He has made nine appearances since November 2015 for the Germany under-18 side, and looks set to enjoy a bright future.

Touré is the more mobile of the pair, using his pace and power to great effect in the middle of the park. He notched up three goals and four assists this season.

Janelt a top talent

Also 18, the former Hamburger SV midfielder was picked up by Leipzig for around €100k and has been with the club since July 2014.

Unlike Touré, he is yet to make his senior debut but has been a much more regular fixture within Germany's youth teams.

Despite not making an appearance for the under-18 side, Janelt made 16 appearances and scored four goals for the under-17 team and also netted for the under-15 age group.

In 13 games for the RBL under-19s last seasons, he scored four goals and laid on a further three for team-mates.

Both players are currently part of the first-team squad's pre-season preparations, as Ralph Hasenhüttl aims to prepare his side for the season ahead.
