Varela joins on a season-long loan deal

The talented right-back, who wasn't going to be featuring in the plans of United manager Jose Mourinho next season, has joined the German outfit until June 2017.

Varela will wear the number three shirt at his new club and is now eligible to play to play in the Frankfurt's friendly against SV Wehen Wiesbaden this afternoon.

Eintracht sporting director Bruno Hübner speaking about the new signing said "Guillermo Varela is a very talented young player", which he has already shown at "two massive clubs". He went on to say that "we're in no doubt he'll add competition to the team" which is what every team needs "especially in his preferred position on the right-hand side of the defence."

Last season Yanni Regäsel and Makoto Hasebe both played at right-back for the Bundesliga side, but both failed to impress and - Hasebe more of a defensive midfielder - Varela could be set to play quite a lot of games next season.

Varela is excited to play in the Bundesliga

Varela will want to play a lot at his new club and speaking about the move he said "I'm looking forward to playing for Frankfurt", and he will be hoping to make a big contribution to the team in the upcoming season. The right-back continued to say that he has "already seen a few Bundesliga games on television" of his new team and he said he was "really impressed by the atmosphere of the fans".

Overall the move suits all parties with Varela set to play a lot more than what he would have done at United and on the other hand, Eintracht are getting a quality player that will help them immensely next season.
