Despite putting off plans to retire in the summer, Antonio Di Natale is reportedly considering retiring at the end of this year according to Gazetta Dello Sport.

The 38-year-old, who is in his 19th year as pro and 11th year at Udinese, was expected to hang up his boots in the summer but decided on one more year.

This term, Di Natale has just the one goal in eleven appearances as the Zebrette have struggled for consistency since the off.

Whether or not Di Natale actually carries out his decision to retire is anybody's guess with him already reconsidering his decision twice in as many years. One thing for sure is, Udinese will miss him for his goals.

One of Serie A's best strikers

The former Italian international, who was a target for MLS newboys New York City FC at the start of the year, sits 6th in the Serie A all time top scorers list, with 208 goals to his name, 190 of which have came in the black and white of Udinese. A further 8 goals would put him up to 5th place, just under 40 ahead of the next active player on the list Alberto Gilardino.

Totti not considering giving up just yet

Legendary Roma captain, Francesco Totti, who celebrated his 39th birthday in September on the other hand has no plans for retirement yet.

Totti, who has spent all his career with the capital club has turned down many a lucrative offer from clubs down the years, including Real Madrid.

Serie A's second highest ever scorer told viewers of the Maurizio Costanzo Show that he hasn't "even thought about retirement."

The forward who declared himself as physically "fine" says he will continue playing as long as his body "holds up." He continued saying it won't be for another "two or three years" until he even starts thinking about possibly hanging his boots up.

His contract with Roma is up come season end and injuries have largely blighted his playing opportunites this season with just 3 to his name this season. Despite little playing time, he has registered both a goal and an assist.
