According to a quote from the Juventus forward from Sky Sport Italia, Paulo Dybala would like to team up with compatriot Lionel Messi for the Italian giants.

Dybala was quoted as saying, “As for convincing Messi to come to Juventus, it would be beautiful to have him with us.” The Argentine would then go on to say more about Messi, “He has always played in Spain and it would be good to see him perform in another championship.”

Big money

To afford the Barcelona star, the Bianconeri would probably have to sell Paul Pogba to even come close to matching Messi’s valuation. While it’s true that Juve have spent considerable amounts of cash in recent seasons on the likes of Dybala, Mario Mandzukic, Alex Sandro and Alvaro Morata, Messi’s potential transfer fee would be comparatively massive. That’s also without taking the striker’s weekly wages into account, and what the number would mean for Juventus’ financial situation

A wealth of attacking options

Even if Messi never wears a Juve shirt, the Bianconeri are set for the foreseeable future with their own Argentine forward in Dybala. In domestic play, the former Palermo man has bagged a squad-leading nine goals, while tying with Juan Cuadrado for the team lead with four assists. Dybala has also added goals in the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italia.

In addition to Dybala, the Old Lady also employs Mandzukic, Morata and Simone Zaza up front. Needless to say the team has a dangerous striker grouping as is.

Other fish to fry

While it seems unlikely that Leo Messi would join Juventus, an attack with Messi featuring alongside the likes of Dybala, Morata and Mandzukic is exciting to think about.

However, the Bianconeri have needs elsewhere. Should the team actively pursue players during the winter transfer window, resources will likely be diverted towards other needs.

Juve still could use another central midfielder to rotate with Pogba, Claudio Marchisio and Sami Khedira. Additionally, it wouldn’t be a massive shock to see the team sign Cuadrado on a permanent basis from Chelsea given how the Columbian has performed.  The Old Lady could also be in need of a backup goalkeeper if Neto departs.
