After thrashing Frosinone last weekend, Napoli now sit at the top of Serie A once again. They are in form and are looking to stay at the top of Serie A against 6th place Sassuolo.

Form

It was a 5-1 thrashing of Frosinone for Napoli as Gonzalo Higuain scored a brace for the Azzuri. Higuain converted a penalty and rounded the goalkeeper to keep his hot form for Napoli. Combine that result with a loss by Inter Milan and Napoli found themselves at the top of Serie A. Napoli, with 41 points, now sit two points ahead of Inter Milan and Juventus who are both tied on points right now.

The Serie A title is still up for grabs as 4th place Fiorentina are still only three points off Napoli. But they have a gap after that thanks to the fact that Roma's form has dropped off a cliff. After this game, Napoli face Inter in the Coppa Italia Quarter-finals in what will look to be one of the top games of the season.

It's been a fantastic season for Sassuolo as well as they find themselves in 6th place in Serie A and have their sights set on qualifying for Europe. For a team like Sassuolo, getting to play in the Europa League would be huge for the club and they are right there.

They are three points behind 5th place Roma and have a game in hand. If Sassuolo is able to pull off an upset over Napoli then things will get even tighter in the Serie A race. With them being eliminated from Coppa Italia, Sassuolo can turn their attention to Serie A.

They are on a hot streak right now and are catching everyone by surprise as the team to watch in Italy right now. The side rose from the ranks in Italian football and now they are doing what Leicester City is doing in the Premier League. Maybe not to the extent of the Foxes but they are certainly creating a "giant killer" aura about them.

Team News

Swansea City are reportedly close to signing Napoli midfielder Johnathan De Guzman on loan. De Guzman has reportedly fallen out with Napoli and is seeking a move away from Naples.

Napoli have also announced that they have loaned left back Camilo Zuniga to Bologna on loan.

What They're Saying

"Even if we play to our full potential, it will be a really tough game for us." said Napoli manager Mauro Sarri when asked about facing Sassuolo (via ten Sport). Sassuolo have exceeded many expectations this season and beating Napoli would make this season even better.

Prediction

This looks like a trap game for the table leaders and expect Sassuolo to give Napoli all they can handle. This game ends in a draw.
