Sampdoria talisman Eder has completed his move to Inter for a fee believed to be in the region of €10.7 million, the club have confirmed.

The 29-year-old will join the Nerazzurri on loan for the rest of the season, with the club obliged to make his signing permanent in June.

The Italian international has netted twelve times for the Blucerchiati this term, trailing only, alongside Juventus marksman Paulo Dybala, runaway leader Gonzalo Higuain in the Capocannoniere standings.

Inter convey delight at capture

“F.C. Internazionale would like to announce that Eder Citadin Martins has signed for the club from U.C. Sampdoria,” a statement on the club's official website read.

The club emphasised Eder's "international experience", boasting that the nimble attacker will "add a new dimension" to their play.

After topping the table for large chunks of the campaign, Roberto Mancini's side have slid down to fourth and currently reside outside the coveted UEFA Champions League places.

The former Manchester City boss lamented the form of his current attackers in their limp 1-1 home draw with Carpi last weekend and it remains to be seen how Eder's arrival will impact Mauro Icardi, last season's co-Capocannoniere victor.

Forward hails Nerazzurri's status

Eder had reportedly rejected a move to Premier League leaders Leicester City in favour of Inter and the 29-year-old expressed his satisfaction at securing his "dream move."

"I’m delighted to be here," beamed the forward. "I’ve worked hard for years to play for a big club like Inter.”

Eder flourished for the Genoa-based outfit this campaign, topping the scorers chart for much of the first-half of the campaign until Sampdoria hit rock bottom under former boss Walter Zenga.

Teammate Roberto Soriano has also been on the radar of the Nerazzurri.
