Roberto Mancini, the boss of the Inter could be replaced at the end of this season, according to Estadio Deportivo Unai Emery the Sevilla manager is one of the options for the Italian team while Tuttosport have Diego Simeone the Atletico Madrid manager as their candidate.
Both are great managers but, why would Inter want to sack Mancini?
Reportedly the Italian coach wants to go back to England where he spent a lot of time and also the Nerazzurri aren't having the best season they could. They have a team with great names and they spent a big amount of money to bring players and they are only in the 5th position. They have an attack any team should be afraid with Mauro Icardi, Stevan Jovetic, Ivan Perisic and Eder - a player playing great football and was scoring a lot with Sampdoria but since he moved to Inter he has failed to impress. Also they bought Geoffrey Kondogbia and Felipe Melo to reinforce the midfield and the response has been lower than the expected.
Mancini's numbers are not good enough for Inter standards, in 31 games played they have only won 16, tied 7 and lost 8 and they were eliminated from the Coppa Italia by Juventus in penalties after managing to score 3 goals without letting in any themselves. Inter aims high and maybe the Italian isn't the one who can lead them in that road.
Unai Emery
The Spanish coach is having a regular season with Sevilla, they are currently occupying the 7th position of the league and in the quarter final of the Europe league after beating Basel 3-0 but in the last season they managed to win it and they ended that season in 5th position and got into the Champions league group phase before promptly returning to the Europe league after elimination at the same stage. Bringing Unai Emery might bring the club the titles that they deserve and need, Inter will probably end in a Europa League position in the table and Emery knows how to manage a club to win it.
Emery's numbers this season are regular compared to the last one, in 31 games played they have won 13 games, tied 9 and lost 9, in Champions league they won 2 games and lost the other 4. In Europa League they have won the 4 games they have played.
Diego Simeone
The Colchonero's coach is having an amazing season with his team, they are currently in the 2nd position of the table, they have won 22 games, tied 4 and lost 5 leaving them only 6 points behind the leader Barcelona and are showing a great display in Europe. He however is a bigger difficulty to get, besides the great seasons he was a player of the club and he has managed them greatly. Also the Spanish outfit has grown a lot since they came under his command, Atletico have become an important team in Europe while Inter has decreased. In Champions league they won 4, tied 3 and lost 2, one of the losses was against Barcelona in the Camp Nou and the score was 2-1, which leaves the team from Madrid hopes of qualifying to the semi finals.
Inter would be incredibly lucky if the managed to get Simeone and under his command they could achieve many great things like winning the league again, the Coppa and maybe a European competition.
