Pescara have signed Jean-Christophe Baheback on loan from Paris St. Germain with an option to buy, they confirmed hours ago.
The 23-year-old striker debuted for the Parisiens back in 2011 but found opportunities limited with the club's mouth watering firepower and consequently had loan spells with Troyes, Valenciennes and most recently St. Etienne.
Baheback hasn't been afforded the opportunity to impress new boss Unai Emery in wake of Zlatan Ibrahimovic's departure from the French capital over the summer and it looks unlikely that he will get a chance in years to come with their being an option to buy attached as aforementioned, believed to be around €3 million.
A problem addressed
Coming into the season, the newly promoted delfini were severely lacking depth up top but Baheback's arrival aids this problem.
Baheback is easily the most experienced forward within the club and has played at a higher level than each of his counter parts on a more regular basis.
Fernando Nicastro is the only striker permanently on the Stadio Adriatico clubs books but is out injured meanwhile Inter loan duo Rey Manaj and Gianluca Caprari are the other two strikers at Massimo Oddo's disposal.
Granted Pescara played with one up top in their opening day surprise draw with Napoli, - whom they took an impressive 2-0 lead over before a Dries Mertens double tied things up - they could not have went the full Serie A season with just three strikers and continually hope they wouldn't suffer an injury in that department when they need all the goals they can get to survive.
Second signing today
Baheback's arrival followed Robert Muric's at the club earlier in the day. The winger arrives on loan from Ajax also with an option available to Pescara to keep Muric on a permanent basis.
The 20-year-old Croatian has found first team opportunities limited since his promotion to the senior side ahead of the 2014/15 season and has spent the majority of his time in the Netherlands representing Jong Ajax.
