Juventus 3-1 Sassuolo: Old Lady coast past Sassuolo

Gonzalo Higuain’s brace, and Miralem Pjanic saw Juventus demolish Sassuolo 3-1.

The Bianconeri coach Massimiliano Allegri gave Pjanic his Juve debut, Sassuolo arrived without key players Domenico Berardi and Gregoire Defrel.

Sassuolo started the threat early in the first half of the match as Matteo Politano low shot denied by Gianluigi Buffon. While on the counter attack in the 5th minute Higuain Scored the first goal for the Bianconeri. The Neroverdi continued to move forward to get back to the game. But A very beautiful volley from Higuain secured the second goal for Juventus. The dominance was obvious for the Old Lady in the match, which lead the team to score a third goal through Pjanic. While Sassuolo seemed in shock, the team managed to score a goal through Luca Antei.

In the second half, Juventus continued on dominating while Consigli withstood the shots of Sami Khedira and Stephan Lichtsteiner, However Sassuolo also got to Buffon's goal with Politano’s assist for Ragusa, who was offside. also they were near to make it 3-2 in the final minutes and was only denied by a Lichtsteiner goal line clearance. Juventus secured their 3rd win in Serie A and keep up their perfect record.

Napoli 3-0 Palermo: Sarri spoils De Zerbi's Serie A Debut.

Jose Callejon and Marek Hamsik gave Napoli victory, spoiling the debut of new Palermo Coach Roberto De Zerbi’s debut. Due to A touchline ban De Zerbi's assistant Davide Possanzini was on the bench. New Signing Alessandro Diamanti debuted for the rosonero.

Napoli broke the deadlock through Hamsik and this goal marked the 82nd goal for Hamsik at Napoli, surpassing Partenopei legend Diego Maradona. Callejon scored either side of the hour mark and his second and Napoli's third was a delightful drive across the goal from outside the box.

Bologna 2-1 Cagliari: Bologna ease past cagliari

Bologna earned a precious three points from Cagliari as their captain Marco Storari saw red in the second half. On his debut, Federico Di Francesco scored the winning goal for Bologna.

Bologna were in need of a win after last round humiliation against Torino, and were missing key players like Mirante, new signing Umar Sadiq, and Godfred Donsah.  Simone Verdi curled a free kick into the near bottom corner, giving the hosts the advantage. Then Cagliari fought hard for a comeback yet the team weren't able to convert it to real chances.

10 minutes after the second half began, a chaotic incident happened which resulted in Storari seeing red for tackling Bologna's attacker. The 74th minute of the match saw Di Francesco score the second goal for Bologna. Cagliari wouldn’t go down without a fight, even with 10 men,  Bruno Alves sent a fierce free kick into the top corner but in the end they were unable to get another and left Sardinia pointless..

Genoa-Fiorentina Abandoned

Genoa’s match with Fiorentina was abandoned after 28 minutes due to a hailstorm over the Marassi.

The remaining 62 minutes will be scheduled at a later date, most likely in November.

Milan 0-1 Udinese: Rossoneri crumbling again

Milan failed to win in second consecutive Serie A match, Stipe Perica' volley in the 88th minute grabbed 3 points from San Siro Satdium for the Zebrette. This was also Udinese' first victory there in Serie A since 2007.

Milan could've had their name on the scoresheet with Jose Sosa's impressive volley but unfortunately for them it cannoned off the bar.

As the game seemed to be a goalless draw, Badu's cross found Perica who volleyed from 12 yards out. The ball deflected off Ignazio Abate’s chest and Gigi Donnarumma stranded for the Udinese goal.

Atalanta 2-1  Torino: Joe Hart unable to win on Serie A debut

Joe Hart didnt have a good debut against Atalanta, as Torino were beaten by a late penalty.

All eyes were on England number one Hart for his Granata debut following a surprise move from Manchester City. Torino were missing their hitman Andrea Belotti and Marco Bennasi due to injury. While Atalanta were missing Carlos Carmona.

Iago Falque scored the first goal in the game 54 minutes in with a curling free kick into the near top corner. Yet after 2 minutes from this goal, Hart made an error  flapping at a corner so Andrea Masiello tapped in the rebound from six yards to draw the hosts level. In the 82nd minute the referee called a penalty for Atalanta and Franck Kessie duly put it in the net and grabbed the three points for his team.

Roma 3-2 Sampdoria: Totti seals the match for Roma

Roma came back from a trailing situation, as a hailstorm delayed the match and Francesco Totti’s scored a last-gasp penalty to beat Sampdoria 3-2 in a great match in this round.

Roma entered the match with hefty injuries mainly in defence as Thomas Vermaelen and Antonio Rudiger amongst others were out.

Sampdoria had started the match strong and well but Diego Perotti dribbled down the left and chipped up a cross for Mo Salah’s head to put it in at the back post and put the capital club ahead. La Samp levelled the match through Luis Muriel.

Sampdoria did turn the situation around before half-time, as Fabio Quagliarella tapped the ball in from six yards. The storm turned into hail and flooding, so the half-time break lasted 80 minutes while they waited for the weather to calm down.

Roma pushed forward with great intensity in the second half, with the introduction of Totti and Edin Dzeko in the second half. Dzeko scored the second for Roma after a good cross from Totti. The pair were far from finished for the afternoon as deep into stoppage time Dzeko tried to cut back in the box and fell under pressure from Milan Skriniar – the referee awarded a penalty, and Totti converted the spot-kick with the last move of the game for a 3-2 Roma victory.

Chievo 1 Lazio 1: Points shared in Verona

Keita Balde made the ideal comeback as Lazio cancelled out an Alessandro Gamberini header for the 1-1 draw at Chievo.

Chievo have earned a reputation on their home turf, as they surprised everyone by beating Inter Milan in matchday 1, Lazio were well aware that they'd be in for a tricky trip. Chievo took the lead in the second half, as Gamberini towered over everyone to nod in a Valter Birsa corner kick. Keita Balde brought proceedings to a tie three minutes after and neither side could find a decisive goal afterwards.

Pescara 1-2 Inter: Late Icardi show grants Inter victory

Inter got their first win of the season thanks to a Mauro Icardi brace.

Frank de Boer’s side started in a very aggressive fashion and dominated early doors. Joao Mario received the first booking of his Serie A career after 22 minutes. Pescara finally broke the deadlock with Francesco Zampano’s cross from the right flank meeting Jean-Christophe Bahebeck at the far post for a volley with the inside of the boot to give the delfini an unlikely lead.

In the final 15 minutes de Boer made all three substitutions throwing on forwards Rodrigo Palacio, Eder and Stevan Jovetic. Inter equalised when Ever Banega’s cross found a fantastic twisting Icardi, who managed to connect and send a header in from 10 yards. Icardi was clinical once again for this match with a smash hit in at the near post, turning the game around completely in the dying embers.

Empoli 2 Crotone 1: Empoli score first goal this season and pick up first points

Monday night saw Empoli win over newly promoted Crotone. With goals from Giuseppe Bellusci, and Andrea Costa for Empoli, and Mario Samprisi scoring for Crotone.

The match saw a red card for Crotone defender Noe Dussenne after tripping Guido Marilungo. Crotone played the last 10 minutes with 10 men on field.
