There we go, all done and dusted, Madrid ease through to the last eight 4-0 on aggregate. Goals from Ronaldo and Rodriguez were enough for them to see off Roma. Unfortunately, that's all we've got time for tonight. I've been Tom Mason, taking you through this Champions League tie, and until next time - goodnight!

Full-time: Real Madrid 2-0 Roma

90: Three minutes of additional time.

87: Danilo misses the target. There have been a few speculative effort from Madrid as the clocks ticks away, none more so than that from Danilo.

86: The visitors also make their final change as Maicon is brought on in place of Keita.

84: Madrid make their final change of the night as Casemiro has been replaced for Kovačić.

82: Madrid know they are home and hosed. A third would be icing on the cake, but Toni Kroos' long-distance shot is straight down the throat of Roma keeper Szczesny.

77: Zukanovic is shown a yellow card. He holds out an arm to halt the run of James Rodríguez and is booked for doing so.

76: Madrid make another change as Jese is introduced in the place of Modrić for the final fifthteen minutes.

74: Roma make their second change of the night as Toti is brought on for  El Shaarawy.

73: Those two goals in quick succession are very harsh on a Roma side who should of been leading. That just shows that if you don't convert your chances then you will be made to pay at this level.

68: James Rodriguez nets Real's second goal in under five minutes to confirm his sides passage through to the last eight. The goal came as Cristiano Ronaldo dribbles to the edge of the box before playing in the Colombian, who fires low and between the legs of Szczęsny.

GOAL! Rodriguez makes it 2-0 to Real.

64: Tottaly against the run of play it's Real Madrid who take the lead to end the tie as a contest. The goal comes after great work from second-half sub Lucas Vázquez whose step-overs buy him the half-metre he needs to cross for Ronaldo to volley in at the near post.

GOAL! Madrid score, it's Ronaldo with the goal.

62: Marcelo is more interested in bombing forward, leaving a massive gap down the left. Roma's Alessandro Florenzi takes advantage, firing a low shot that is beaten away by Keylor Navas.

61: Madrid make their first change of the night as Gareth Bale who made his first start after injury tonight, makes way for Lucas Vázquez.

57: This match is really coming into life now and is a great watch. Neither team can convert their chances and it's now or never for Roma in this tie.

52: Another golden opportunity for the Italians, moments after some desperate defending keeps out Madrid at the other end. The visitors counter quickly, with Mohamed Salah again in acres of space as the home defence go walkabout. But the Egyptian drills wide with only Keylor Navas to beat.

49: A quiet start to the second half, Roma really need a goal in the next couple of minutes if they are going to force this one into extra time.

45: Back underway in the second half. Roma have introduced Vainqueur  in the second half in the place off Pjanić. Madrid are unchanged.

20:32.  Elsewhere in the Champions League, Wolfsburg and Gent are drawing 0-0 at the break meaning that it's the Germans who remian ahead in the tie 3-2. In the FA Cup Arsenal lead 2-0 at Hull City thanks to a goal in each half from forward Giroud.

20:30. A very even first half in Madrid with neither side being able to take advantage of their chances. Roma have had the better of the chances and should probably be a goal to the good in this. They have got it all to do in the second half as they try to stay in the Champions League.

Half-time: Real Madrid 0-0 Roma

43: Salah has an effort on goal. A long way out to try his luck and no real concern there for Keylor Navas, who gets down to make a simple

38: The first yellow card of the night has been shown to Danilo for a dangerous tackle.

35: Ronaldo has an effort on goal. A good chance and he screams towards the crowd in frustration. Marcelo plays him into the area and Szczęsny again does well, this time closing down the forward and making the save to concede a corner.

32: Bale misses the target. Three Roma defenders desperately try to limit his space but he catches a fierce effort which, lucking for the visitors, rises over the crossbar.

29: Salah misses the target. A second superb chance for Roma! The Egyptian gets away from Sergio Ramos and Edin Džeko's ball finds him, only for Keylor Navas to rush out of his goal and do just enough to ensure Salah fires wide.

24: From the corner James Rodríguez misses the target. A good spell of Madrid pressure ends with the Colombian firing wide. Luciano Spalletti's team will be pleased to have come away from that unscathed.

23: From the corner Ronaldo see's a header palmed over the crossbar resulting in another corner. Toni Kroos to take.

22: Some fantastic pressure from Madrid on the Roma backline brings a corner for the hosts. James Rodriguez to take their second of the match.

15: Džeko misses the target. A glorious chance for the striker. Roma engineer a three-on-two attack and Mohamed Salah slides a ball across the edge of the box, which Stephan El Shaarawy runs over, leaving Džeko through on goal. He takes it with his left foot and slices wide with only Keylor Navas to beat

11: Kroos has an effort on goal. It is accurate from the Germany midfielder and heading right in the bottom corner, but his distance from goal means Szczęsny is able to dive to his right and make a relatively comfortable save.

8: Alessandro Florenzi curls in a good cross that is just out of Stephan El Shaarawy's reach. A real postitve start from the visitors as they go in search of the important first goal on the night.

6: A moment for Roma early in this game. Stephan El Shaarawy arrows a diagonal ball into the area and Keylor Navas punches clear with Edin Džeko and Pepe in front of him to preserve the score at 0-0.

3: The free-kick was squared to Marcello who saw his shot well blocked and the visitors clear the danger.

2: Keita concedes a free-kick for a foul on Modrić. Ronaldo is lining the set-piece up from what is 25 yards out. You wouldn't back against him would you?

0: Kick-off

19:40.  Not long now until kick-off, the two team are out and shaking hands. Can Roma complete the impossible and turn around a 2 goal swing.

18:45. And the Roma line-up: (4-2-3-1) Szczesny, Florenzi, Manolas, Zukanovic, Digne, Pjanic, Keita, Salah, Perotti, EL Shaarawy, Dzeko.

18:45. Team news time! First up, the hosts Real Madrid: (4-2-3-1) Navas, Danilo, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Casemiro, Modric, Kroos, James, Bale, Ronaldo.

As for the team-news Madrid will be without Karim Benzema who is out with a hamstring injury. They will also be without Casemiro and Sergio Ramos who are both suspended for the visit of Roma. As for the visitors they are having doubts over Nainggolan who is expected to be out with a groin injury. Both De Rossi and Rüdiger will definitely be out with calf and thigh injuries respectively.

In last season's Champions League, Madrid got all the way to the semi-final before losing out to Italian giants 3-2 on aggregate which at the time was somewhat of a surprise because it was widely expected that both Spanish giants would meet in the final. As for Roma they got knocked out in the group stage as they finished third to behind Bayern Munich and Manchester City in group E, meaning they slipped down to the Europa League where they reached the round of 16 before being knocked out by fellow Italian's Florentina .

Roma come into the game on a real high after easily beating Florentina 4-1 at home in the league on Saturday, in what was a real dominant performance from the whole side. As for Madrid, they come into the game on the back of a straight forward win away to Levante 3-1 away from home. Both teams are in a decent run of coming into this one so it could be an exciting match although the first leg brought an easy win for the Spanish giants.

Madrid's form in La Liga has been in decent having won five of their last six matches including one draw. They come into the match looking like one of the most form teams in European competitions of late. As for Roma they are in fantastic form in the league and have won their last seven matches in Series A, since the loss which they had against Juventus 1-0 at the end of January.

Real Madrid aren't having the best of seasons domestically and they lie third place in La Liga, 12 points behind leaders Barcelona, who look unstoppable in their quest to win the league once more. Madrid have been very inconsistent this season and although they have scored a league high 82 goals, they have been rocky at the back conceding 27 goals so far. As for Roma they also sit in third place in Serie A and lie eight points behind leaders Juventus with ten games still remaining in the Italian first division.

The last time these two met prior to this this years competition was all the way back in the second round of the Champions League in 2008 where Roma won both legs 2-1 to progress to the last eight of the competition, where they were eventually knocked out by winners Manchester United.
