It is reported that Real Madrid will make a summer move for Manchester United's Ander Herrera if a move for prime target, Paul Pogba falls through.

Secondary option

Current manager Zinedine Zidane is looking to rebuild in the summer especially in the midfield and it is reported by many Spanish media outlets that the legendary will make a move for fellow Frenchman Pogba as his major signing.

However it is claimed that despite strong interest, Los Blancos could be priced out of a move for the 23-year-old by current club Juventus

Fichajes have reported if that was to be the case, the Galaticos would look to the Manchester United midfielder as a secondary option.

Many would argue that Herrera who moved to Old Trafford from Athletic Bilbao the season previous has been poorly misused by Louis Van Gaal and reports suggest that the 26-year-old could seek a move away if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Major movements

Herrera could be at the forefront of a major revolution at the Santiago Bernabeu with a number of big names expected to jump ship in the upcoming summer transfer window as they looks to seriously compete with bitter rivals Barcelona

The reported major exit is former United star Cristiano Ronaldo with AS suggesting that the Portuguese juggernaut could be offered back to his old club at the price of €60m (£48.5m) this summer.

Despite scoring 42 goals in 40 appearances so far in the current campaign, the 31-year-old has started to increasingly become a figure of frustration for fans and with a deal until 2018, reports say that the Madrid hierarchy have decided to cash in while there is still value.

Another potential mover is Toni Kroos who has reportedly grown unsettled in the Spanish capital and could prove to potentially be a vital bargaining chip in the possible pursuit of the 26-year-old Herrera.

Real Madrid will host Eibar at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, April 9 with kick-off at 3pm BST.
