Last time both clubs met, the game at the Estadio de Gran Canaria ended in a 2-0 defeat for Las Palmas against Deportivo. The away side took a very early lead, which started off by a good run by Lucas Perez who sent the ball into the box and followed up by an own goal by defender David Simon. Deportivo sealed the victory in the final moments of the game, Lucas Perez with a straight forward finish after a unselfish pass from Faycal Fajr. Game ended Las Palmas 0-2 Deportivo La Coruna.

Form

Deportivo have been struggling a lot since the beginning of the year, the side have only picked up two league wins in 2016 so far. The club have the same amount of wins this season compared to Sporting Gijon and Getafe who are in the relegation zone, but Deportivo have been fantastic at not losing the game. They have fewer defeats than Celta Vigo and Athletic Club who are in the top six of the Spanish league. Key player to look out from the Deportivo side is Lucas Perez, the Spaniard has 15 goals and seven assists to his name this season. The attacker also two Man of the Match awards to his names too.

Las Palmas have been on fine form recently, managing five wins out of six. Despite having a poor start to the season, they have picked up vital wins against Valencia and Villarreal in their last few games but lost to third place Real Madrid. Las Palmas have struggled for goals this season, but have managed to pick up the most wins alongside Real Sociedad and Espanyol from the bottom ten. The main man to remember from the Las Palmas side would be attacker Jonathan Viera, the Spaniard has seven league goals and seven assists for Las Palmas this season.

Las Palmas’s predicted line-up (4-3-3): Varas, Garcia, Aythami, Lemos, Castellano, Tana, Roque, Momo, Zhar, Araujo, Viera.

What to expect

The game will definitely be a tight one, but Deportivo should take all three points on Monday night. Las Palmas will not have their top goal scorer Willian Jose available, the Brazilian is out due to a suspension which is a big blow for the away side.

Deportivo to win 3-1 at home against Las Palmas would seem like an ideal result. Important game for both sides in the La Liga.
