The draw for this year's Wimbledon was announced today, with the tournament beginning on Monday and it brought up some interesting encounters with some intriguing clashes in both the men and women's draws.
Gentleman's singles
British number one Andy Murray, going in search of a second Wimbledon crown, will start his quest for glory against fellow Briton Liam Broady.
The pair have never played each other before, with world number 234 Broady receiving a wildcard for the tournament.
Murray's path to the final is quite favourable due to Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer being on the other side of the draw and is not due to face any of them until the final.
Murray could potentially go on to face Lu Yen-Hsun in round two, whilst the likely opponent in round three would be Benoit Paire before a fourth round match against Nick Krygios.
In the latter rounds, if he makes it, Murray could face Richard Gasquet in the quarter-final before a semi-final encounter against Stanislas Wawrinka.
Gasquet, who made it through to the semi-final at last year's Wimbledon, will start against British number two Aljaz Bedene.
Another danger player in Murray's side of the draw is Kei Nishikori who begins his campaign against the big serving Australian Sam Groth.
World number one Djokovic will open his defence of the crown against another British player James Ward, who himself received a wildcard for the tournament.
Djokovic, if as expected he gets through his first round match could take on another British player in Kyle Edmund who faces Adrian Mannarino in the first round.
Third seed Federer begins his quest for glory against Guido Pella, who will be looking to spring a surprise against the seven-time champion.
Federer will be hoping to go one better than he has in the past two years, where he has been runner-up at Wimbledon. If he is to do it he will have to do it the hard way as he could potentially have to go through Djokovic in the semi-final.
The other British players in the men's draw have tough draws to negotiate in the first round with Dan Evans facing Jan-Lennard Struff, Brydan Klein facing Nicolas Mahut and Alex Ward facing David Goffin.
Ladies' Singles
The draw for Ladies' side has also thrown up some interesting encounters with all of the British women given really tough starts to their campaigns.
British number one Johanna Konta faces Puerto Rican Monica Puig in the first round with the pair meeting just once before. The encounter took place at last year's grass-court tournament in Nottingham when Konta came from behind to win 4-6 6-4 7-6 and will be looking to do the same this time around.
British number two Heather Watson begins her campaign against Annika Beck and if successful there could be potential for Watson to face world number one Serena Williams in a repeat of last year's third match where Williams won in three sets. Williams will begin the defence of her crown against a qualifier or a lucky loser.
Laura Robson has the most difficult tie of the lot in the first round as she faces Australian Open champion, Angelique Kerber. The pair have met three times before including at Wimbledon in 2011.
Robson won that match back then but on the other two occasions Kerber has come out on top including the most recent meeting in 2013 in Beijing.
The other British women competitors in the draw also face some intriguing matches with Naomi Broady facing Elina Svitolina, Katie Swan taking on Timea Babos and Tara Moore being pitted against Alison van Uytvanck.
Agnieszka Radwańska, one of the favourites for the ladies crown, will begin her quest for glory against Russian Kateryna Kozlova.
