16:45 -- Federer's early dip means Murray is the only player yet to drop a set in the tournament. Can he continue such a historic run?

16:43 -- Tsonga and Murray enter the court to a slightly subdued reception, though many have escaped to the concourse after that thrilling opening act.

16:42 -- Meanwhile, Raonic will face the 17-time Grand Slam winner after prevailing in four sets against Sam Querrey.

16:41 -- The Croation raced into a two-set lead but the Swiss recovered, prevailing in a crucial tie-break in the fourth, and assuming control in the decisive set.

16:40 -- Federer has booked his place in the semi-finals with a thrilling five-set triumph over Cilic.

As previously mentioned, play is set to commence following Federer's clash with Cilic which begins at 1PM BST.

The world No.2 added that he must maintain this level of tennis over the course of the fortnight and feels that, when required, he has produced at SW19.

Speaking on Wednesday's encounter on Centre Court, Murray said: "I think if I play the level I'm playing at just now, I give myself a chance in most matches."

The Canadian prevailed from two sets down against David Goffin on Monday for the first time in his career and the 17 time Grand Slam champion will be aware of his serving capabilities.

Should the Swiss progress -- a tough ask considering Cilic's form -- he will face either Milos Raonic or Sam Querrey in the last four.

BBC and former player John McEnroe believes Murray has been the standout performer during the first week and believes he could only be downed by Federer.

Murray, though, has triumphed in 12 of the 14 encounters between the pair, twice coming at Wimbledon.

As Murray has alluded to several times, Tsonga is a supreme grass court player and will doubtless pose a threat to the Scot. Whether he can navigate his way through and set-up a semi-final showdown with either Tomas Berdych or Lucas Pouille is another matter.

The Frenchman must have breathed a huge sight of relief after coming through a taxing five-setter against John Isner on Middle Sunday, the longest match of the tournament thus far.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, meanwhile, sealed his place in the quarter-finals after compatriot Richard Gasquet's retirement after only five games on Monday afternoon.

His chances have been significantly bolstered by the premature exit of world No.1 Novak Djokovic, downed in four sets by American Sam Querrey. The Serb has claimed the previous four majors and has left the door slightly ajar for Murray to collect the third Grand Slam of his career.

He successfully navigated his way through the first week without breaking sweat, dispatching fellow Brit Liam Broady in the first round before weathering mini-spikes in tennis from both Yhen-Su Lu and John Millman to maintain hopes of replicating his heroics in 2013.

Though many instead focused their attentions on the petulance of Kyrgios, Murray was in sparkling form and is yet to drop a set on the lawns of SW19 all tournament.

Murray stamped his place in the last eight at the All-England Club with a commanding straight sets victory over Australian maverick Nick Kyrgios.

I'm Craig Vickers and I will be taking you through the Scot's pivotal clash, scheduled on Centre Court following Roger Federer's meeting with Marin Cilic -- the former a potential opponent for Murray in the final (should he progress).

Hello all! And welcome to VAVEL UK's live minute-by-minute commentary of Andy Murray's last eight clash with Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the Wimbledon Championships.
