Following the signings of Will Neighbour and Rickey McGill, Denzel Ubiaro has been announced as the 3rd signing for Plymouth Raiders as they prepare for the 2020/21 BBL season.

The 23-year-old, who plays as a combo guard for the Raiders, is known to the fans in Plymouth as he has been a key member of the team for the past 3 seasons.

Last season, 6’2 Ubiaro recorded scored 6.7 points per game with a 47% success rate, in a 19.6 minutes per game.

Happy to be back

Ubiaro seemed to be looking forward to get back into action, especially now Plymouth are under the new ownership of BAU Global:

“It’s exciting coming back for my fourth year with the Raiders and cannot wait to really do some amazing things this coming season with the team, staff and our new friends, BAU Global," Ubiaro said.

"With an unexpected halt to last season, this one coming is going to be an incredibly special and successful 20/21 season the fans more than deserve”.

Student Athlete

Not only is Ubiaro is a key player for a professional basketball team, he is also a student at Plymouth Marjon university and Head Coach Paul James is hoping his growth outside the court continues to mirror his growth on it.

“Denzel will be playing his fourth season with the Raiders and we have seen him grow and improve as a player and person every season," said James.

"Last season he was arguably having his best season to date before the season was cut short.

"Being a student at Marjon University, we’re looking for him to continue this upward curve in his professional development and improve on his performances once more."
