Luke Campbell’s clash with Ryan Garcia has been postponed after the British fighter tested positive for COVID-19.
The Olympic gold medallist was scheduled to fight young superstar Ryan Garcia in a bout scheduled for December 5th for the interim WBC Lightweight World Championship. However, the fight will now be pushed back, and a new date will need to be set by Matchroom and Golden Boy Boxing.
Eddie Hearn broke the news but noted the delay will only be a short one as Campbell has already completed his period of isolation and is back training.
Unfortunately @luke11campbell tested positive for Covid 19. He has completed isolation and resumes training shortly but will not be fit for Dec 5. We are working on a new date with @GoldenBoyBoxing and @DAZNBoxing and only anticipate a very short delay to this great fight.

Despite news that it will only be a minor setback, it is another disappointment for boxing fans with it being the second big show that has been postponed in a less than a week following the cancellation of the Alexander Povetikin Dillian Whyte fight due to the Russian contracting the virus.
Boxing fans will be eagerly awaiting confirmation of a new date as the fight looks to be a intriguing battle and a crucial one for both fighters career.
