Jonny Clayton moved to the top of the Premier League table as he beat Gary Anderson 7-4 to leapfrog Dimitri Van Den Bergh, who lost to Jose De Sousa

The Welshman averaged 99.11 as he picked up his third victory of this year's Premier League as the first stage of the campaign came to its conclusion.

There were wins for James Wade and Peter Wright as they beat Glen Durrant and Rob Cross respectively. Michael Van Gerwen had to settle for a draw against Nathan Aspinall after missing one match dart to win the game.

Jose picks up first Premier League victory

De Sousa picked up his first-ever premier league win and continued to score well as he averaged 104.30 to beat fellow debutant Van Den Bergh 7-3.

There were 10 180's thrown in 10 legs in a high-quality game, but De Sousa took home the victory as Van Den Bergh slipped from the top of the table.

The Belgian was left to rue miss doubles in defeat but the DreamMaker will be happy with his efforts after the first stage, only losing one game throughout the week.

De Sousa, who hit a nine-darter in yesterday's action, stays at ninth in the table but moves up to four points.

Durrant's winless run continues against Wade

Elsewhere Durrant's miserable defence of his Premier League title continued. He lost to Wade 7-3 and only managed to average 87.69 as he remains at the bottom of the table.

For Wade, the win marks his second on the bounce after an impressive victory against Van Gerwen the night before. It moves him up to five points and eighth in the standings.

Aspinall secures draw against Van Gerwen

Van Gerwen and Aspinall had to settle for a point apiece after their encounter ended in a thrilling 6-6 draw.

Aspinall averaged 105.38 and was 66.6% on his doubles in a superb display.

Van Gerwen, however, nearly took home all the spoils but missed a dart at double top for the match.  The result leaves Aspinall in second and Van Gerwen in third, both on six points.

Snakebite comes from behind to win against Cross

In the nights other game, Wright overcame Cross 7-5. Snakebite won the last four legs on the bounce as he came from behind to beat Voltage, averaging just over 100.

Cross had raced into a 5-3 lead and had the throw to secure a point on two occasions. Wright, however, kicked on as he reeled off the last four legs to go home with his second win of the week.

It was Cross' second defeat of the week having beaten in the in-form Clayton last night. He sits at sixth in the table with five points after the first week of fixtures came to an end.

Wright finished the week just ahead of Cross on six points in fifth place.
