Caterham have signed Japanese former Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi and GP2 star Marcus Ericsson, becoming the final team to decide their lineup for the 2014 F1 season.

The former returns to the grid after a season on the sidelines in 2013, after losing his Sauber drive, with 23-year old Ericsson receiving a promotion from GP2, the Swede set to make his big-time debut in March's Australian Grand Prix.

Team principal Cyril Abiteboul was delighted to break the news.

He said: "I'm delighted that we've been able to bring Kamui back.

"He is a very popular driver and it's very good for the whole team we've been able to attract such an exciting driver to join us at a critical point in our development.

"His pace speaks for itself, and his extensive experience of developing cars, particularly in his years with Toyota, will be incredibly important for us as we tackle one of the most challenging seasons F1 has ever embarked upon."

Kobayashi made his F1 debut in 2009 driving for Toyota before joining Sauber in 2010, but he was not retained for 2013 by the Swiss-based team.

Ericsson - a former Formula BMW champion - has also expressed his own excitement ahead of his debut season, where he starts at the very back of the grid.

Ericsson said: "This is a very proud day for me and everyone who has helped make my F1 dream come true.

"I'm already excited about the season ahead, and the first race in Australia in particular."

2013 drivers Giedo van der Garde and Charles Pic were not able to secure a single point in the drivers' championship, with the Leafield-based squad eventually coming dead last in the constructors' championship, behind rivals Marussia.

Dutchman Van der Garde has been snapped up as reserve driver for Kobayashi's old team Sauber, whilst the future is still unclear for Pic.

Withe Caterham's announcement comes the long-awaited confirmation of the driver lineup for 2014, with only the Mercedes pairing of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, and Marussia duo Jules Bianchi and Max Chilton remaining the same as in 2013.
