Fsv Mainz 05 and Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun has stated his belief that the Eagles can qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Speaking during the media parley at the Le Meridien Hotel in Uyo, he said ''the round of qualifiers might be tough but with adequate preparation and motivation, the Super Eagles can succesfully qualify from the group.

Balogun missed the 2014 edition of tournamnet in Brazil as he caught a late injury which ruled him out of the global mundial. Nigeria under former coach, late Stephen Keshi made it to the round of 16 where the Eagles finally lost steam and were knocked out by France.

Speaking further, Balogun insisted that he wants the team to take every opportunity at their disposal to ensure they book a spot at football's most prestigous tournament. 

The Super Eagles have been drawn in a group which comprises of Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia. The team will open thier campaign on October 3rd away to the chipolopolo of Zambia.
