Aberdeen and Dumfries choose to vote "No"

Two constituencies at opposite ends of Scotland have become the latest to throw their support behind the UK.

Aberdeen and Dumfries both voted overwhelmingly to keep Scotland in the union.

In Dumfries, Better Together took 66 per cent of the vote, while in Aberdeen the share was 58. 6 per cent.

Both areas were regarded as unionist strongholds in the run-up to the referendum.
