To say Tommy Haas has been unlucky in his career is the understatement of the century. He has been plighted with injury for the majority of his career, and it has come to bite him once again.

After struggling for most of this year with a shoulder injury, it was announced that he is due to undergo a fourth surgery on his shoulder, forcing him out for the rest of the season but he seems positive and said that this is not the end.

”I don’t want to retire from the tennis stage with an injury but would like to end my career on the court", Haas commented.

He will travel to New York to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder, which will be performed by Dr. David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

If anybody can come back from an injury at 36, it is the resilient German but it is a big ask for him to be anywhere near his best in the twilight of his career.

VAVEL Tennis wish Tommy Haas a speedy recovery and hope to see him back tearing up the courts next year!
