Neymar Jr has been announced as the new face of Pro Evolution Soccer by Konami.

The 23-year-old will replace Mario Gotze on the front cover of the PES franchise.

The Brazillian cannot wait to see himself in the game and had high praise for its realism. He loves the "utter realism" and "sheer control" of the game, enthusiastically saying that he "cannot wait" to see what he and his teammates looks like when the game is officially revealed.

The news caps off a fine season for the young Brazillian that included helping Barcelona to the treble scoring 22 league goals, his career best so far.

Neymar also featured in the Champions League Team of the Season and was named the top scorer in Europe's elite club competition

Partnering with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, the South American strikeforce hit 122 goals between them in all competitions, an incredible feat for what has been an incredible season for each player and the Catalonian giants.

Neymar Jr joins an elite group of players who have featured on the cover of the title that includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Theirry Henry and Michael Owen.

Last year, PES won best sports game of the year by IGN, the world's leading entertainment and games website.

PES has often gained plaudits for the realism and immersive gameplay as Konami look to take back the number one football game title from FIFA

PES has again won the licensing rights to the Champions League and the Europa League, enhancing the gameplay. Players pre-ordering Pro Evolution Soccer will be treated to Neymar in their starting "My Club" eleven, where plays pit their wits against each other to build the best side possible.

Konami will be giving a full reveal on the 12th June, but they revealed a teaser video involving Neymar and a few of his rivals.
