Last weeks episode of 'Gotham' set up the show for a thrilling second half of the Dr. Crane story arc.  While Detective Gordon and his partner Detective Bullock were investigating Dr. Crane and attempting to locate his whereabouts, more was going on around them in the buzzing city of Gotham.

Things have started to heat up with Gordon and Dr. Thompkins, and it's revealed that Thompkins will be the GCPD's new Medical Examiner.  It's clear throughout the episode that Gordon has an issue with this career move by Thompkins, and it's evident that it has disgruntled him in the workplace.  While another victim is found without adrenal glands the detectives ratchet up their investigation and discover Dr. Crane was a Biology teacher who lost his wife and has a son, meanwhile Crane is shown injecting additional adrenal fluid into this system and hallucinating in order to get rid of fear.

While Crane is being hunted, Bruce Wayne decides to take a hike that his father and him used to go on every year and it shows a still broken Bruce Wayne who is very much still lost without his parents.  However, it's once again Alfred who's there to comfort the young kid as he takes on more than he's clearly ready for.

Meanwhile, Fish Mooney has ended up in what seems to be a prison of some sort.  She is surrounded by multiple individuals and quickly takes control, making it known that she is the boss.  It's unknown who administered Fish's kidnapping, although assumptions can be made that crime boss Falcone had Fish Mooney taken away for double-crossing him and attempting to take his place.

The Penguin takes possession of Mooney's nightclub and re-names it "Oswald's" under the approval of Falcone.  Both bosses Falcone and Maroni strike a deal and remain in good terms, but Maroni warns the Penguin that the only reason he's alive is because of Falcone and that once Falcone is gone, so is he.

Dr. Crane had started administering his drugs to his son, and once the GCPD finds him and kills him, Crane had shot his son up with a double-dosage and gave him permanent brain damage.

Many characters have been introduced in this world of 'Gotham', the Riddler, Catwoman, Batman, the Scarecrow, and the Penguin.  However, next week 'Gotham' will take on a completely new beast.

The Joker.

'Gotham' airs Mondays at 8/7 central on FOX.
