Grzegorz Wojtkowiak and TSV 1860 München have parted ways as the Polish defender signs for Lechia Gdansk.

The 30-year old put pen to paper until June 2017 after spending three years in Munich, making 54 appearances.

1860 München Sporting Director, Gerhard Poschner told Bundesliga.de: “Grzegorz is an impeccable warrior who was always there when you needed him and we wish him the best of luck with his new club.”

Wojtkowiak had said goodbye to his teammates: “Once a lion, always a lion, and the same goes for me. I had an unforgettable time in Munich and I will miss the club.”

The Polish international joins after only featuring sporadically in the 2.Bundesliga for the Munich club last season.

Wojtkowiak passed a medical on Friday after rumours that he would be re-joining Lech Poznan. However, a last minute offer from Lechia Gdansk caught the eye of the Pole.
