1.FSV Mainz 05 have signed Vfl Bochum midfielder Danny Latza on a free transfer.
Latza, 25, has signed a three year contract with Christian Heidel's side and will give the side a boost in the midfield department.
Heidel confirmed: "We have been following Danny Latza since his time at Darmstadt 98 very closely and are confident that he can prove his skills in the Bundesliga now. "
Latza, who played at FC Schalke 04 in the youth team, moved in 2013 from Darmstadt to VfL Bochum. The midfielder played 63 times in the second division, scoring three goals and providing five assists in the process.
There has been a lot of talk about Mainz midfielder Johannes Geis moving on, with the German youngster attracting interest from teams such as Borussia Dortmund.
This may suggests that Heidel is looking to bring in another midfielder along with Latza to replace Geis.
