The wind fell down today in Jasna to host the 11th Slalom of the season. The snowy conditions added to the fog, which made it a hard race for the girls, who had to push in their stocks. It didn't affect Mikaela Shiffrin who made huge margin in both runs, skiing perfectly.

First run

When she is in form, nobody can touch her. Mikaela Shiffrin once again impressed in Slovakia, where she took the reference time of the first run. The young American skied in her charismatic style. As usual, she skied with total dominance of the track, her skis stayed smooth on the turns and then didn't mark the slope. Her aggressive style doesn't affect her ski.

In second place was home favorite Veronika Velez Zuzulova, who finished 1.67 seconds behind the talented Shiffrin. Velez Zuzulova was the only skier to be ahead of the American at the first intermediate. She then skied intelligently, saving energy for the last section of the track.

A second Slovakian completed the provisional podium after the first run, Petra Vhlova. She was brilliant, staying smooth and calm, pushed by her fans. This is a huge performance considering she started with the bib 14, on a slope that takes the mark and gets slower at each passage of a racer. The crowd chanted her name when the young lady was in the finish area, drawing a smile on her face.

But Vhlova shared the provisional third place with the young and talented skier Wendy Holdener. The Swiss was the one to open the start gate today in Jasna. She tried to take all the opportunities, doing some faults but skiing with a full commitment on the turns. Vhlova and Holdener finally finished at 1.88 seconds of Shiffrin.

The leader of the Slalom World Cup, Frida Hansdotter, was out of the top ten after the first run. Despite a very dynamic style, she couldn't come close to Mikaela Shiffrin. The Swede likes hard and icy conditions, which weren't the ones in Jasna today.

Second run

Wendy Holdener skied a clean second run. The young woman, who's full of confidence after her victory during the City Event in Stockholm and her second place during the Super Combined in Soldeu, showed off her skills to take the lead with a good time, ensuring her another podium.

One of the home hero, Petra Vlhova, couldn't keep her provisional podium position. She finally ends at the 9th place, which is still a great result at the end.

Remaining focused and skiing in a very smooth style, Veronika Velez Zuzulova ends third today in Jasna. The Slovakian racer managed to claim her 5th podium of the winter, doing her best season in her career.

Impressive isn't enough to describe Mikaela Shiffrin. After her first perfect run, the American raced another amazing round, staying smooth as usual. This is her fourth Slalom win this season in four starts in the discipline, all victories with huge margins.

Final results :

Mikaela Shiffrin wins the Slalom of Jasna 2.36 seconds ahead of Wendy Holdener and 2.77 seconds ahead of Veronika Velez Zuzulova.

Finishing at the 10th position today, Frida Hansdotter secures herself the Crystal Globe of the specialty.
